Fun & Easy Valentine Projects

Valentines Day came early around here this year…as in, the week before Christmas early! But when the editors of American Profile magazine commissioned me to create seven Valentine-themed projects, suitable for busy moms and crafty kids, I just couldn’t say no. And because of print deadlines, the photos were due December 20!

I guess this is where a well-stocked craft closet would come in handy…but I wasn’t so prepared. Fortunately, there was a fair amount of red and pink amongst the Christmas decor to make it work. The issue came out last week, and we were thrilled to see Babygirl on the cover. Headless, but the cover, no less!

And several pages inside! I’m shocked every time I see my name in print…and still have no idea how these opportunities come my way?!

The magazine is distributed through the Sunday paper, so I thought I’d share the projects with you here. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory, but you can find the tutorials on Parade’s website.

They asked for several cover options, but the X & O cookies made the cut.

I’ve made a similar burlap garland before.

And you may recall my Cupcakes in a Jar from a few years ago.

Crafting for Valentine’s Day, while singing Christmas songs, was a first for us, but still a fun afternoon! Have you whipped out any simple projects for the holiday? Valentine’s Day is this weekend, you know!
