Faves Under $50 | Spring Break Edition

Happy Monday, lovebugs! We had fun family weekend with Mr. College Guy home! I did my best to not smother him with hugs and questions, ha! I also cooked a lot of bacon. What is it with teen boys and bacon?! He does appreciate home-cooked meals a lot more now, and the comfort of clean sheets and towels. It’s fun watching him see his home with new, grateful eyes, now that he’s been living in a dorm for seven months!

But he’s back at school, and the rest of us are Cabo-bound for Spring Break today. We have a fun few days planned, and I’ll be sharing it all on my Instagram and Facebook Stories. And of course recapping it here on the blog when we get back.

Today I’m sharing a new Faves Under $50… and in honor of Spring Break, they’re all perfect for warm weather getaways!

hi sugarplum faves under $50 spring break

one // Bar Necklace // Who doesn’t love a delicate staple piece of jewelry?! Something you can throw on and know it will look great with any outfit? This is the necklace for you! It comes in silver, gold, and rose gold and could also be layered with some delicates or longer pendants. Perfect everyday piece (and great teacher gift!).

two // Pocket Tee // I’m convinced we created the perfect tee in our GxHSP Resort 2020 Collection! Not sheer, with a touch of stretch and feminine cap sleeve, it’s another wardrobe staple you’ll be glad is in your closet! I never travel without at least one.

three // Jean Shorts // The unicorn of jean shorts! These aren’t too short or too low cut, they fit like a dream, and don’t cost a fortune! (See? Unicorn!) I love the higher rise, raw hem (but not distressing!), and light wash… they are perfect for spring and summer! See them on in last week’s Amazon Haul HERE. But if denim shorts aren’t your jam, these pull-on linen shorts are incredible, too!

four // Pineapple Photo Frame // Isn’t that pineapple frame just darling?! Makes for an easy spring refresh around the house.

five // Water Bottle // I’m always struggling to increase my water intake! I’ve been keeping this one with me throughout the day, and it’s helped keep me on track. It keeps drinks hot or cold for hours, and with the screw-top lid, it doesn’t leak! So it’s perfect to throw in a gym bag or tote and head out the door! (I especially love it for travel!)

six // Wide Brim Hat // My go-to hat for every warm-weather trip, how could I not include it in this roundup?! Under $20 with tons of color options, universally flattering, and it packs like a dream! Plus, a little water doesn’t hurt it.

seven // Ruffle Swim Suit // This J.Crew inspired one-piece suit fits like a dream! It’s fully lined with padded cups and darling criss-cross straps. The V-neck is plunge-y but not enough to feel exposed, and not only is your bum fully-covered, but it stays put! (I wear an XS). See it on HERE.

eight // Rattan Circle Bag // I’ve had this bag for a while and love it! It’s so cute and trendy for spring and summer and fits a surprising amount!

nine // Flip Flops // I am a summer girl through-and-through, and I can attest that not all flip flops are created equal! These are the only style I wear… exceptional for their soft and cushy bottom, sturdy construction, and bendy shape. I’m serious! These are all real things when it comes to rating flip flops! Plus, the nude shades are flattering and go with everything!

ten // Sunglasses // These sunnies are one of the most popular items ever on the blog! They are $11 (!!!) with just the right oversized feel. There are several frame and lens color options!

eleven // Face Cream // Thanks to my exclusive code, SUGARPLUM20, my favorite day moisturizer is under $50! This cream is hydrating without leaving a residue, soaks in super fast, and can be worn night and day. It also leaves my skin with a nice, illuminating glow!

twelve // Self Tanner with Mitt // I can’t believe it’s almost time for bare legs and tan lines! This self tanner is a long-time favorite of mine, and now available on Amazon! The mousse formula is practically goof-proof, and the best natural shade. The handy little mitt ensures your hands stay clean, and helps for an even, streak-free application. Seriously, the mitt is a game changer!

And here are the Top 5 most popular items under $50 around the blog this week:

  1. Cropped Jumpsuit (what a steal!)
  2. Adjustable/Removable Bag Strap
  3. Quilted Crossbody Bag
  4. ‘Good Vibes’ Tee
  5. Tile Bracelets (code ‘SUGARPLUM40’ saves you 40%!)

As for Spring Break styles, you can see a ton of outfit inspiration HERE, and stay tuned this week for a huge round-up of so much more! What great deals have you found lately? Are you headed anywhere for Spring Break?

As an influencer, and a person with close ties with the Gibson Company, could you please collaborate with them on the need for more user friendly fabrics? I love your collections, but when I read the reviews, many give them moderate reviews. Most negatives have to do with the fabric quality, or the desire for more user friendly fabrics. Please…… less items which have to be hand washed. Thanks!

Thanks so much for your feedback, Vi! We are very particular about fabric selection, and choose them based on how the fit and feel while wearing them, along with allowing us to keep the line affordable. Hand-washing is often recommended for many fabrics for best performance and longevity, but most of our pieces can absolutely be washed! xo. C

We too have a college freshman home early – and very sad. She is a dancer, and being trapped in the house in a small town is not her thing. We are trying to do online workouts and we plan to make some dance videos in our nearly vacant small town next week(: Trying to be positive. I appreciate your blog continuing to be a happy part of my day!
