Happy almost-weekend, lovebugs! It’s been another bewildering week, as we slowly figure out how to navigate life at home, school at home… and most recently, how to celebrate birthdays at home.
Little Miss turned 14 this week, and while the celebration looked drastically different than she’d been planning, we still were able to make it special… and even more importantly, help her feel special. As this pandemic goes on, there will be more celebrations and holidays spent at home, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make them memorable and fun.
Easter is just around the corner, and nothing says we can’t get dolled-up in our favorite spring dress, hunt for eggs in the backyard, and surprise our kids with fun baskets of treats! In fact, they’d likely be appreciated now more than ever before!
Here are some things we’ll be adding to our teen’s baskets this year…
Teen Girl Easter Basket
one // Headphones // Keeping the noise under control is of utmost important in our house now, so these wireless headphones come in super handy! They run through Bluetooth and stay charged for up to 40 hours of listening time.
two // Cross Necklace // This sweet cross necklace is sterling silver and is the perfect little gift to celebrate the Easter season. Its price can’t be beat either!
three // Nail Polish // Little Miss loves doing her nails, so I wanted to get her some fun new spring colors. It seems like the Sugarplum household has converted into a full-on salon with all this extra self-care!
four // Bracelet // One of my tried and true gift options, this adjustable bracelet is perfect for tweens and teens. It fits most every wrist size with its easy on-and-off, too! Little Miss and all her friends wear them.
five // Journal // This journal could be the perfect little quarantine companion for your teens trying to navigate their new normals. It has daily prompts for reflection and will serve as a nice time capsule of this strange time in a few years!
six // Sharpies // I mean, when is it ever not fun to draw with Sharpies?! This set has so many good colors and can help with ‘art class’ too!
seven // Basket // It may be time to upgrade your girl’s Easter basket to a more teen friendly option, and this one is just right! So is the price! She can use it for cute storage after Easter, too.
Teen Guy Easter Basket
eight // Hat // Hats for dudes are like shoes for girls… can you ever have too many?! I don’t think any guy will ever be sad to see a new hat as a gift! Plus, this one is 40% off!
nine // Water Bottle // These water bottles are still all the rage, so if your kiddo doesn’t have one yet, now is the perfect time! My son has had his for years… and apparently they’re cooler the more battered it gets. His is covered with stickers, too.
ten // Hair Care // My guys discovered this brand last year and became fast fans. This is all either of them uses, and is a great price.
eleven // AirPods // AirPods will never not be a great gift! My son has been asking for the new ones for months!
twelve // Wireless Charger // No one needs more cords in their life, and this handy little wireless charger helps free up beloved outlet space! It also looks to be on sale!
thirteen // Car Kit // If your boys are like mine, they love to baby their cars! And with all this extra time, this handy car kit gives them everything they need to spend an afternoon cleaning them up.
fourteen // Basket // This masculine basket is the perfect ‘guy version’ of an Easter basket, and can also be repurposed elsewhere in their room later.
Fun Fillers for Both
fifteen // Chocolates & Candy // These are a given… gotta have all the good stuff in their baskets!
sixteen // Mad Libs // These word games are always so fun to play and get a laugh out of everyone!
seventeen // Rubiks Cube // With all of this extra time on our hands, why not revert to an old faithful toy like the Rubiks Cube?! These things can keep one’s attention for hours!
eighteen // Gift Card // Gift cards are always a good idea, and my kids are spending a lot of time browsing Amazon online these days!
nineteen // Ring Toss // Okay, so they might be ‘cool’ teens…but they still love a silly game. This goofy ring toss will get us playing, and laughing, together!
If your little bunny doesn’t live at home, you could always send one of these fun Easter care packages to let them know you’re thinking of them! I used to send something similar to my son at college and he loved them! And if you’re doing an egg hunt, grab some cute plastic eggs HERE.
And the great news about all these things… they’ll arrive on your doorstep before Easter! I’ll have to hide the chocolate from myself until then though! What things did you find for your Easter baskets? I may grab one for Mr. SP, too! I think we could all use a surprise basket!
We may be watching church in our PJs on Easter Sunday, but that won’t diminish the significance and beauty of the day. In fact, I think it will be an Easter we all remember!
These are great ideas, Cassie! I took a page out of your book and just ordered an “Easter basket of treats” from Amazon to be sent to my boys who live out of state. Thanks for the reminder that came early enough for me to make this happen! Happy Easter! 🐰🐣
This is great! My son (13) is always hard to buy for. We’re going to be home this year since our vacation was canceled and I want to make it more special.
We all know the real meaning of Easter, but Mr. Easter Bunny, would you please leave me the new Dark Chocolate Kit Kat Bar? And maybe some peanut M&Ms?
Great ideas. The “kids” in my family right now are my two grandsons who are younger than teens but we are still working on coming up with different Easter Basket ideas. My own kids are grown so I don’t make them one any more (even though they ask me why – ha).
I think this Easter, while it will be different from the many we’ve celebrated in years past, will be even more special. During this time of uncertainty we all need a reminder of where our Hope comes from – our Lord Jesus Christ!
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
Have a blessed day!
