Dressing Room Diaries

Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the weekend!!! Today is our last full day in Cabo before heading home tomorrow. It’s been an incredible week, and one I can’t wait to share soon!

Today I’ve got a new Dressing Room Diaries, and it’s a GOOD one. So many incredible new pieces for the spring season. You know the drill with Dressing Room Diaries… the shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad, and I’m in desperate need of a hairbrush. But it’s real life, real girl, real clothes… and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model. So let’s get started!

Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 120 pounds-ish (depending on the week’s taco count), with a slight pear shape. My usual size is XS/0.

Shirts, Tops & Tees //

This was my favorite little top of the bunch this round. It’s part t-shirt and part blouse, so it’s super soft and light, but also has an elevated style to it. I love the looser flutter sleeve, and the little pleats at the shoulder.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS

Leopard Top | White Jeans | Sandals | Ring | Bracelets (code ‘SUGARPLUM40’ saves you 40%!)

This top had me at stripes… pink and red stripes, no less! It’s only my all-time favorite color combo!! It’s fully-lined with adjustable straps, and the cutest scallop trim. Wear it with jeans and short, trousers and skirts… and so cute peeking out from under a blazer or jacket.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 2

Scalloped Tank Top (under $30!) | White Jeans | Sandals | Ring

It wouldn’t be spring without chambray, and this one is as affordable as it is chic! A great medium weight that’s not stiff, I love the rinse and single pocket, along with the way it drapes. Tuck it in jeans or shorts, layer it over a tank, or tie it at the waist. A great chambray shirt like this is super versatile.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size small

Chambray Button Down (30% off!) | White Jeans | Loafers | Ring

Tie-dye is everywhere this spring, and these two light pullovers are fun options. Both are soft and medium-weight, and so easy to wear with everything from leggings and joggers, to shorts and jeans.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size small in both

Tie Dye Sweatshirt (30% off!) | Tie Dye Hoodie (30% off!) | White Jeans | Loafers | Ring

I never met a gingham I didn’t love… my closet has every color of the rainbow! And of course pink is always a great idea. I love this lightweight fabric, so easy for layering or wearing alone, and the petite collar makes these my favorite brand of gingham. Wear it out, tucked or tied… the styling options are infinite!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS

Gingham Button Down (under $30!) | White Jeans | Sandals | Ring

I love the fun twist on leopard for this spring-perfect top. The plum and blush is such a fresh combo, and the ruffle and flutter sleeves make it so feminine. It’s a perfect work to weekend blouse.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XXS, but would prefer XS. Does run a little big.

Split Neck Top (on sale!) | White Jeans | Sandals | Earrings

This new brand just dropped at Nordstrom, and they offer a fun twist to favorite patterns. The leopard pullover has a bold neon sleeve stripe, and the camo a cute pink sleeve. I love the relaxed, sporty styles, and the fabrics are light and soft.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS in both.

Leopard Hoodie | Camo Baseball Tee | Jeans

This leopard shell is a wardrobe staple in my book! Wear it with trousers and skirts or under a blazer for work, pair it with black jeans and heels for a night out, or keep it simple with sandals. The fit is easy and flattering, with a drapey woven material and v-neck.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS

Sleeveless Leopard Blouse | White Jeans | Sandals

The camo trend isn’t going anywhere this spring, and these fun tees are elevated thanks to the linen blend! They’re soft and light, without being sheer, and fall away from the body nicely. Keep it subtle with the sand camo, or go a little more traditional with the green.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size Small, size up one.

Sand Camo Tee | Camo Tee | White Jeans | Earrings

This darling top has a cute ruffle trim neckline and Swiss dot texture. Fully-lined, it hangs beautifully and can easily be dressed up or down. I grabbed it in black and white, since it’s a style I’ll wear for years!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS

Ruffle Neck Blouse | White Jeans | Sandals | Ring

Jumpsuits & Sets //

I’ve shared this stretchy crepe jumpsuit before, it’s a great under-$100 option! And now available in a lovely ivory (not stark white!). It’s stretchy and elongating, with a smooth silhouette (no side or back pockets). It runs long for tall girls, but is an easy hem. There’s no see-thru, but you’ll definitely want smooth, nude undergarments.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 2

Sleeveless Jumpsuit

I am so smitten with this fun striped set! So cute for vacation, right?! Both pieces are a crisp cotton poplin, with just a touch of stretch. The top is backed with elastic smocking and adjustable front tie that provides some support.

The wide-leg pants have an elastic waist and pockets with a cropped ankle length. You can pull them high or low on your hips depending on how much mid-section you want peeking out.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS top, but would prefer a small, and XS pants, but would prefer XXS. So size up in the top and size down in the pants!

Striped Crop Top | Striped Wide Leg Pants | Sandals | Ring | Bracelets (code ‘SUGARPLUM40’ saves you 40%!)

Pants & Skirts //

These jogger-style pants are as soft and comfortable as they are cute! Made of a brushed cotton with a touch of stretch, they feel incredible on. Plus, the pattern is as cute as they come. Wear them with sneakers, sandals, heels… dress them up or down, these are so fun! I love how the website styled them with a pink striped sweater!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size small

Sleeveless Mock Neck Top | Floral Camo Pants | White Jeans | Sandals

More pink and red, this midi skirt is spring perfection! I love the crisp accordion pleats and beautiful movement. Wear it with a tee and jean jacket, or dressed up for showers, parties and workwear. I love it with a graphic tee knotted at the waist, too! It also comes in a preppy navy and white combo.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 00, size down if you have a small waist.

White Tee (under $15!) | Striped Midi Skirt | Sandals

This statement skirt is stunning in person, and so slimming. Made of a gorgeous silk, it feels and flows beautifully, with gorgeous embroidery details. Keep it sleek with a black top, or make it more casual with a white button-up.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 0, but a 2 would be best.

Sleeveless Mock Neck Top | Patterned Skirt | Heels

Dresses //

This halter dress came thisclose to coming with me to Mexico! I love the bright, watercolor floral, and the flattering neckline. It’s fully-lined and the skirt moves beautifully. It also comes in classic black.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS, but size down one.

Watercolor Halter Dress | Sandals

This sweet dress would be a great option for Easter. I love the ruffle trim and fit-and-flare shape. It’s a medium-weight sweater knit, but still moves well in the skirt.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS, but definitely need a small… size up one.

Ruffle Neck A-Line Dress | Sandals

This dress is much prettier than it photographs… I promise!! Another great Easter and spring option, especially if you prefer sleeves. It’s a sheer chiffon overlay with beautiful tiers and wide elastic waist. The bracelet sleeves have an elastic wrist, so you can wear them long or pushed up and it falls just above the knee. I’d wear it with scrappy heels for church and showers.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size regular 2

Spotted Drop Waist Dress | Sandals

This shirt-style dress was an unexpected surprise. Made of a sturdy cotton and fully-lined, it has good structure considering the shape. It’s easy to wear, and perfect for a range of occasions. It’s v-neck, but still has operational buttons for the top, and a cute little petite collar.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing petite XS

Shirt Dress | Sandals

This bold dress makes a sassy statement, and is fun for cocktail parties and evening events this season. The material is thick and stretchy, providing support and smoothing. I love the ruffles and flared hem.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS, but definitely need a small. Size up one.

Ruffle Neck Dress | Sandals

This midi has a gorgeous skirt with beautiful lace overlay. It’s fully-lined and induces twirling!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 0, but really wish petite lengths were an option!

Square Neck Lace Dress | Heels

This wrap dress is feminine and classic, and perfect for everything from work to showers. I love the puffed sleeve and textured fabric, along with the easy, comfortable fit. The pink in my photo is more true than the online pic. It does need a snap closure in the front, but that’s an easy alteration.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS, but size down if in-between.

Wrap Dress | Sandals

Swimsuits & Cover-Ups //

Okay, I became so smitten with my first Summersalt suit, I had to try the other styles! And while the fit varies by style, they are all incredibly well-made, comfortable, and super chic.

This plunging neck was my favorite of the batch, with gorgeous color block and a fun criss-cross back. It’s got built-in pads to provide extra coverage at the chest, but no shelf support. I like the modest leg, but it’s a teeny bit cheeky. I’m currently stalking the black and white combo for a restock!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 4

Colorblock One Piece Swim Suit

This leopard is uber-chic! It has built-in cups (sewn to the front!) that provide coverage and some support, and adjustable straps for a custom fit. It’s full-coverage across the bum, but higher on the leg than the other styles.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 4

Leopard One Piece Swim Suit

This suit is the same style and silhouette as the leopard, but in a fun color block. The color placement is incredibly flattering, carving out a smaller waistline and longer leg. Overall, I’m super impressed with this swim brand and think they make incredible, long-lasting suits!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size 4.

Colorblock One Piece Swim Suit

As for coverups, this cotton leopard tunic is lightweight and a touch sheer, with a full button front. Wear it open or closed, it would be gorgeous over any solid color swimsuit!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS

Leopard Cover-Up Dress | Sandals | Ring | Bracelets (code ‘SUGARPLUM40’ saves you 40%!)

This lightweight coverup has a bold tropical print and flirty shape. The wide smocking at the waist is comfortable and flattering, and easily transitions you from pool to lunch.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS, but need to size up.

Tropical Cover-Up Dress | Sandals

This tunic-style coverup has gorgeous embroidered trim, lightweight material and wide sleeves. It comes in incredible colors, including this bold pink and a chic navy.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing size XS, but would probably size up for more room over a wet suit

Embroidered Cover-Up Dress | Sandals | Ring | Bracelets (code ‘SUGARPLUM40’ saves you 40%!)

This cover-up arrived just before our trip, and it went straight to my bag!! I love the lightweight and easy shape. And if you’re shopping for your kids, Little Miss and I actually agreed on this swimsuit!! It allows her the two-piece she wants, but is full-coverage and athletic in style. Let me know if you’re interested in more kid’s styles, and I’ll share what she’s wearing these days.

I love these posts! I was wondering if you’d consider a post showing different ways to style jogger pants? I see them everywhere & just got 2 pair I love but can’t see many options for styling. I’m 5’4″ so mine hit at the ankle (like the cute flowered ones you showed).
Thanks for what you do! It’s so fun to get your emails. Better than any magazine subscription and much more encompassing. Congratulations on all your success. It’s clear you work hard for it.

Hi Kim! Thank you so much!! I’ll see what I can do for a jogger post or IG Story! Any casual top (like the graphic tees I share in DRDs and Amazon Hauls!) always work well. xo, Cassie
