Day & Night | Jumpsuits

*This post created in collaboration with Nordstrom and ShopStyle, but all product selections, styling, and jumpsuit strutting are my own. Thank you for supporting Hi Sugarplum sponsors!*

Welcome back to a new week, friends! Our son returned home from Camp Crimson (freshman orientation camp) full of excitement, stories, and new friendships. His excitement and joy really does soothe my sad mama-heart. So many of you keep telling me that seeing them happy makes it easier, and now I understand! I’m still sad, but at least I’m a little less worried.

The countdown is on for move-in day, and we’re busy stocking up on all the essentials. I’m constantly thinking of something to add, so fingers crossed it all actually fits in his dorm room! Funny enough, he went from wanting only the basics, to now asking for me to add a ‘homey’ touch.

Today we’re talking jumpsuits, and I’ve found two darling options for Day and Night…and bonus, thanks to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, they’re both on sale!

JUMPSUITS FOR DAY

This modern jumpsuit has a fun contrasting top-stitch with a wide leg, and flattering tie-waist. The leg has an overlapping panel that gives it a bold, architectural style, but surprisingly doesn’t add bulk.

The material is sturdy with a fair amount of stretch, so it hugs your curves while keeping you tucked in.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a 0, but size up if you have a long torso.

Jumpsuit | Nude Sandals | Statement Earrings | Tassel Clutch

I paired it with fun statement earrings and clutch (both under $50), but you could totally dress it down a bit more with flat sandals or wedges, and neutral accessories.

Have you seen Kendra Scott’s new pearl collection? It’s so gorgeous and delicate! I’ve been wearing these pieces non-stop with everything from casual to dressy styles.

JUMPSUITS FOR NIGHT

I was instantly smitten with this low-back jumpsuit, so sassy for evening! It’s gorgeous for cocktail parties, weddings, holiday, and more. The high-band waist creates an incredibly flattering, long silhouette, and the touch of stretch makes it comfortable.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a 0, but size up if in-between.

Jumpsuit | Heels | Leopard Clutch | Pearl Hoop Earrings | Pearl Bracelet Set

Backless Jumpsuit | Stick-On NuBra | Pearl Hoop Earrings

The black pump extends the leg line, and the leopard is a fun pop of pattern (both included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!). The entire look is so sassy, yet incredibly chic.

Seriously so smitten with these pearl pieces!

Which style is your favorite? Are you a jumpsuit girl, too? Next to dresses, they’re my favorites to wear. I love the all-in-one outfit!

There are so many fun jumpsuit and romper styles included in this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…find them all here. And don’t forget, the Sale ends this Sunday, August 4th! I just grabbed a few more of these throws while they’re still only $25. They make amazing gifts for Christmas, teachers, new moms, housewarming and more!

See you back here tomorrow for some fun back to school styles, featuring my Little Miss!

  1. These are both gorgeous jumpsuits. I love the piping in the navy one, really gives it a lot of style.

Your son will do well. Rest assured that college age children do still need you. In addition, he may not tell you all. My children (all three now mid-thirties to mid-fortiees) told me about some college events years later. Our daughter went to a college on the East Coast so trips home were just twice a year. Then she studied abroad in Egypt and Israel for an entire semester! She later admitted that she was really homesick at college until she returned from that trip! Bonus—We are a social family, so we have made new friends with the parents, fellow students, and co-workers wherever our kids have lived and continue to do so. There is much blessing ahead.

That first jumpsuit looks stunning on you. Be sure to wear the heck out of that one! Your son will do great. My son is entering his third year of College. He has admitted that the first year was the hardest and he was homesick. FaceTime/Skype really helps as does constant encouragement and homemade care packages. You got this Mama!!!

I just bought two jumpsuits from Dress Barn. I had my cousin’s wedding vow renewal this past weekend and had a super fun polka-dot jumpsuit that was flown and comfy and had pockets. Then my close friend is getting married early September and I’m helping to act as Wedding Coordinator for the entire day. So I knew I needed to be able to move around and not flash anyone if I was setting up tables or bending down to fix a shoe. So I bought this gorgeous black and white jumpsuit (again with pockets). As someone who is 5’2″ I always thought I was too short to pull them off, but I’m 100% converted.
