Thanks so much for your uber-kind comments on yesterday’s Stylemaker post! I was blown away by your sweet sentiments, and am so thrilled you enjoy my little corner of the internets, and find inspiration here. #mycuprunnethover
We’ve had a lot to celebrate around here lately, between Mr. SP’s birth and my Redbook cover…so we decided to get more dolled-up than usual, and hit the town last weekend.
Most of you know Mr. SP shoots my style posts, and our son takes over when the pics include both of us. He’ll usually snap them in our driveway as we’re headed out, but this time I wanted to highlight one of our favorite Dallas areas…but didn’t want our teenager along for the date!

But before I brag on Big D…let’s talk about my hunky man, and our {Date Night Style}! He’s typically a jeans-and-tee guy, but steps up his game on occasion. I still get all swoony when he does…and something about cuffed sleeves does it for me every time! The man has great hands and forearms! He’s also funny. Really funny. And I’d know, because I know funny! 😉

As for me, I adore a sassy little black dress. I love that this one is fairly modest in length, but extremely flattering in the neckline. Also the flowy shape allows room for dessert! #datenightpriorities

It was love-at-first-sight for these fringe sandals, but the impracticality of them made me hesitate. Now I’m thrilled I scooped them up (at 50% off, hence why they sold out!), since they add flair and sass to so many basic evening looks. Mr. SP calls them my ‘Clydesdale shoes,’ but what does he know?! Half the women on the street stopped me to ask about them! #inyofaceMrSP

{Where We Ate}
// Bolsa //
This InstaGram-worthy little spot (it’s in a WWII-era auto garage) is full of trendy food-lovers, but it’s location in the laid-back, but quirky, part of the city, keeps it from being too ‘see-and-be-seen.’
Most anything goes, style-wise, but bring your appetite, because the food is delicious!
{What’s Good}
Cocktails are inventive, but not hokey.
The menu changes often, but we always go for the flatbreads, flat-iron steak, and pimento cheese grits, when available.
Save room for dessert, or pop around the corner to Emporium Pies.

*Dallas Tip: Bishop Arts District is a favorite neighborhood for strolling, eating and shopping. The streets are full of character, and there’s not a chain store or restaurant in sight!

Dallas Tip: Be sure to drive over the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge on your way!

We had so much fun hamming it up for the camera, and acting our usual corny, handsy selves…it really made for a fun start to the evening. I highly recommend hiring a photographer to follow you around, paparazzi-style, on your next date! #kiddingnotkidding

Such a cute couple! Dallas looks like fun! I was pretty young the last time I was there.
We love Bishop Arts district too. So much of Dallas is new new new, chain after chain but not BA! You've reminded me why dates nights are so important!
Awesome pics, my dear!! You two are the cutest couple ever!
I love photos of the two of you!
You guys are too adorable! I agree on the shoes, I got a similar pair about a month ago and receive tons of comments when I wear them-and I've had the same Clydesdale thought! 😉 They're just too fun and swishy though. Love the Bishop Arts district- we ate there on a previous visit. Don't remember the restaurant, but they had a yummy grilled cheese and tomato soup!
I like to eat at Oddfellows in Bishop Arts. They have the BEST fried green tomatoes – the Fried Green Tomato BLT (86 the bacon since I'm a vegetarian). Husband likes the Buffalo Mac.
A LBD is always an essential and I love how you accessorized it! Would you mind sharing what your nail polish is??
You look gorgeous, and what a fun date night!

You two are so cute! You can feel the chemistry and love between you!
Yummy!!! One of my favs, although it's always hard to choose when you're down in BA…so many goodies! You two are adorbs! xo
Um these photos are gorgeous!! They remind me of our engagement photos…how fun to do that all over again for this post!
You two are the cutest couple! The Bishop Arts district is one of our faves as well: Bolsa is my most favorite restaurant ever, and I die for the chocolate soufflé at Zen Sushi. I'm dying that I missed those fringe sandals again!
Ugh, I wish I would've known about/followed your blog when we lived in Dallas. It would've been so cool to see your posts in proximity and be able to check out the cool places you highlight. We've since moved back to our home state of WI but we will always hold a special place for Dallas/Texas. Post on my friend! It gives us new places to check out when we take the occasional trip back to visit friends/family. PS I'm new to your blog but have been completely loving it so far. It's already provided some good inspiration/impact to my fall wardrobe!
I love the Bishop's Art area… especially Emporium Pies. AMAZING! You guys look great… so much to celebrate. Congratulations! 🙂
Y'all COULD NOT be any cuter. #inyoface made me lol. That's funny. And I'd know.
Love these pictures! You all are so cute. 🙂
Bwahahaha 'Clydesdale shoes'! That Mr. SP. Y'all look like the perfect mix of lusty friendship soulmates. Is that weird of me to say because I totally love it.
xo
Cassie,
That is awesome that you guys are planning time for yourselves. That is a great dress, but those shoes really make the outfit special. They are hot!
