Pop of Pink + The Best Places to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Dallas

Happy Monday, friends! We’re back from a whirlwind trip to California to shoot the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection, and as if I weren’t already excited enough, I’m practically bursting with giddiness now! Being able to wear the pieces and see them fully-styled was a dream, and I hope know you’re going to love them as much as I do!

I shared tons of sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes of our weekend on my Instagram, and you can still check it out the GxHSP Highlight in my profile. I’ll be sharing more on the blog soon since we’re officially in the 30-day countdown!! #eeeek

Today I’m excited to partner with Kendra Scott to showcase a few of my favorite pieces from their new Summer Collection. I’ve been a long-time fan of her line, and love that she’s expanded her styles to include so many different looks. I was instantly smitten with these raffia tassel earrings, and not just because they made me think of margaritas on a patio!

The top is a crisp cotton poplin with the sweetest embroidered flutter sleeves. I’m a sucker for blue and white, and it’s so fun paired with the pop of pink.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a 2 for a little longer and looser fit in the top, but did layer a nude cami under.

I love how all the colors in the Kendra Scott Summer Collection coordinate across the earrings, necklaces and bracelets…and even my nail polish is a perfect match! (I’m wearing Pink Agate…again!)

This outfit also includes two of my Spring and Summer staples…the best white cropped jeans and neutral wedge sandal. Both have already been on constant repeat this season. (I love the wedges so much, I recently added them in black!)

The whole combo made me think of Cinco de Mayo, and the yummy El Bolero Cocina. Because who doesn’t love tacos and margaritas on the cutest patio in town? I get lots of questions about visiting Big D, so in honor of this weekend’s holiday, I’ve compiled our favorite spots for tacos and margaritas…patio included!

Favorite Places to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Dallas

Dallas is overflowing with delicious Tex Mex restaurants, but on Cinco de Mayo we love to be outside on a shady patio. Here are a few of our fave spots to celebrate:

El Bolero Cocina ~ The most Instagram-worthy taco spot in town, and just off the beaten path enough that you’ll be able to snag a table on their outdoor patio. Order their famous Black Margarita for an unexpected take on the classic.

Mi Cocina ~ With locations all over town, you’re sure to grab a table at this Dallas institution. The assortment of salsas will keep you hopping, but be careful of their signature Mambo Taxi…one is enough!

Taqueria La Ventana ~ A little oasis in the middle of downtown with fresh fried churros!

Meso Mayo ~ Home of my favorite margarita in town, the Serrano Berry (muddled strawberries and Serrano peppers!).

Salsas Tex Mex ~ With two locations and a happy hour that can’t be beat, this is our favorite locally-owned spot in the suburbs.

Rusty Taco ~ Looking for something fast and affordable? You can’t beat the $3 tacos and $4 margs at this dog-friendly spot!

Are you a fan of margaritas on patios? Silly question, right?! Happy Monday, lovebugs!!

I’m from Dallas, and the number one thing I miss is ALL the good Tex Mex! Once upon a time, Uncle Julio’s was my go to place. The swirl margs and tortillas dipped in hot quest was my meal! But, it’s a disappointment now…..Love reading about your recs and will check them out when I’m back in town.

Some of the best Mexican / South American food I’ve ever had was during a trip to Dallas, at the Veracruz Cafe in the Bishop Arts district.
