I’m so excited to be part of Just A Girl’s ‘Christmas Room Tour’ today, and share more of our home all decked out for the holidays. Chris is one of my very favorite people I’ve met through blogging…her perfect mix of genuine goodness and sharp sarcasm hooked me early on, and I’ve been her Number One fan ever since.
And a big ole ‘Hey Ya’ll’ to those of you visiting from The Nester! Myquillin always knocks it out of the park, and her decor is effortlessly stunning. If you’re new to Hi Sugarplum, I’ll give you the 5-second bio…I’m a Texas mom in love with design, fashion, travel and sarcasm, and this year we moved into what I hope pray think is our forever home. The place where our kids will pose for prom pictures, and bring our grandchildren over for sleepovers. #holdme
So far we’ve renovated the Kitchen and Backyard, and thanks to the {One Room Challenge}, done a complete makeover on the Master Bedroom and Living Room. You can see the in-progress rooms, and our previous home, on the Home Tour tab.
Today is actually a double-whammy…not only is it a big dose of Christmas, but also the first look at the Dining Room. Enough gabbing, let’s roll that beautiful bean Christmas footage.

You may recall our previous Dining Room was quite a bit more colorful…I’m not exactly sure which direction we’ll go with this one, so we kept the changes so far, new floors and paint (Sherwin Williams ‘Dorian Gray’), neutral. The furnishings are neutral, as well, so I had complete freedom to go wherever I wanted with the Christmas decor…and this year I chose a more traditional route, with a dose of glam thrown in.

The Dining Room is right next to the front door, and setting a holiday table was the easiest way to make the room festive. I’ve never actually set a table as part of my decor before, but I’m kind of digging it!

The only other update we’ve made to this room is the light fixture…that’s a budget DIY I’ll share eventually soon.

I usually reach for Command strips and hooks, but found these suction cup hooks and they work like a charm on glass and mirror!

I love having the tree in this spot by the front door…we can enjoy it from virtually every room downstairs, and it makes a really warm welcome. See more of our tree and sources in my Oh Christmas Tree post.

I fell so hard for these reindeer that I’ve got them scattered all over the house, including our tree topper! Obviously they were a hit since they sold out so quickly!

And that’s our Dining Room all decked out for Christmas…it’s going to be hard taking those wreaths and reindeer down for the New Year…I think I need to find a way to work them into year-round decor! Next stop on the tour is the lovely Myra, so refill your cocoa and get ready for more inspiration!

Cassie, I really like how you framed in the lamps with the mirrors instead of sticking the mirrors behind the lamps. Now you've got me thinking about how I place such things in my own home. The Christmas decor is beautiful, but I can't get over those mirrors!
Thanks Julia! That actually happened accidentally! I had a big piece of art between them, but took it down to arrange some stuff, and realized I preferred that look! You can probably still see the nails in the wall! 🙂
I am really interested in the light fixture. I have priced them but just do not wish to spend the kind of money they want for the ones I have looked at.
Don't think I'm weird, but I look forward to your posts everyday!! I so love your sense of style. We are renting right now. We moved from WI to TN last Dec ( will be a year on Dec 22). We didn't want to buy until we knew the area better, and signed a 2 year lease. Anyway, I love to decorate. And, although I can decorate here, I can't change anything!! I'm so looking forward to getting my own home again. I always wanted a really large home. We have 5 children. So we got one…and I don't like it. 4200 sq feet that I can't keep up with! Several unused, or barely used rooms. So, we will be " downsizing" when we buy!!!
Pushed post too soon. Your home is beautiful and inspirational! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thank you so much, Melissa! I really appreciate your kind comment, and am thrilled you find inspiration here. Good luck with your house hunting in beautiful Tennessee!!! We lived in Nashville for 10 years and still miss it! xo
So beautiful! I love everything you do! Where did you get your chandelier?
Chandey details, please!
Thanks girls!! It's actually a chandy I found on clearance at Home Depot…it was brushed nickel, but nothing some spray paint couldn't change! I hope to do the post on it sooner than later! xo
Loving the buffalo plaid! Everything looks beautiful! 🙂
Beautiful home!! And thanks so much for listing all the links- that was so sweet of you! I'm so honored to be a part of it all this year, among so many talented bloggers. xoxo Bethany (thehouseoffigs)
I am in LOVE with your entry! We have been looking for our "forever" house for over a year and my huge item I want is a great entry where I can put an amazing tree that can be enjoyed from many rooms! I have tried to explain this to my DH and realtor but now I can show them a picture!
Also, I wanted to tell you that I love your blog and look forward to it everyday. I am in my mid 30's and just had my first child and expecting my second and I love your sense of style and how you blend really cute pieces in that still seem young but appropriate in your home and your clothes!
Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much, Christi!! I really appreciate your kind words, and am thrilled you find inspiration here!! xo
Every year your Christmas decor is impressive, but I think this is my favorite yet! Gorgeous!!!
Totally lol'd at beautiful bean footage. Now THAT'S funny! And I love your dining room so much! Those beveled mirrors with the wreaths are stunning!!!!

Your dining room is just gorgeous all decked out in its Christmas finery! Love those little deer, too! So cute!
I'm loving those small ornament wreaths on the candle sticks and the small reindeer on the hutch. Was it a DIY or purchase? Love to get my hands on a few!
Thanks Stormie! The reindeer on the hutch is actually from Kirklands…check my Cocoa & Cocktails Party post for a link to it! xo
Looks so beautiful…I would never want to leave!! The dining room looks amazing and I just love a set table. Right now my formal dining is a 2nd living and I can't wait to someday convert it back.
Everything looks amazing ,you are one talented girl! Love it!
Loving all the stripes and plaid. The bows on the tree are just too cute! Stealing that for next year. Happy first Christmas in your new home! xxoo
I'm always inspired by your festive use of red…loving it in my own decor this year! xo
Love love the stripes everywhere! May I ask where you found the black & white taper candles? So cool! Want them!
Thanks so much, Maddison! I found those at Target a few years ago…I think it was part of a Halloween collection. 🙂
Truly stunning…
