{Before & After} Entrance Hall

Happy Holiday weekend everyone! Since I have multiple projects for every room of my house, I decided to get it in gear and complete one of them! The entrance hall needed the least amount of work, so winner-winner-chicken-dinner!  Here’s the before:

Sorry, bad phone pic. I’ve got to get better at taking ‘Before’ shots! I just get a wild hair, and next thing I know I’m painting!

After I painted the door black (read about it here), we were left with this:

Better, but then the rug looked puny…and the wall picture was floating in too big of a space. Now there is a new, larger rug with more ooomph and a mirror that almost fills the wall (I’ll post the details on making that Tuesday).

I toyed with replacing the pendant, but I like the light circles this one puts off on the walls and ceiling.

This pic is a little dark, but you can see the reflection off the mirror.

Definitely an improvement! The space looks larger and has more personality. I think it looks a little naked and could benefit from a pop of color somewhere (which means I still have a project in this room!! aaaaaahhhhh!!). What do you think?

  1. Maybe some potted ferns on pedestal planters on either side of the door?

…and now I find I need my own black front door. I LOVE what the black does to the entry; well done!
