Welcome back to a new week, friends! I hope you had a glorious weekend. Mama Sugarplum and I are LA-bound this morning for a fun, full week of Gibson x Hi Sugarplum fun. Be sure to follow along behind the scenes on my Instagram Story!
In preparation of our big photoshoot, I increased my weekly workouts (if going from once a week to twice is considered much of an increase!), so I’ve had athletic wear on the brain. After a full summer of finding darling fashion finds for women and teens at Walmart, I decided it was time to start looking in their athletic department, and more specifically, their athletic house brands, Avia and Athletic Works.
I was excited by the large selection of leggings, tanks, sports bras and more. And even though I’ve been shopping Walmart fashion consistently for the last six months, I’m still shocked by the price points…especially considering the quality of the pieces I share is on par with any big box retailer, but at a fraction of the price.
I tried so many pieces, and had way more hits than misses…including these fun options.
Look One //
I prefer leggings for indoor workouts like Orange Theory, but it’s essential they be soft and stretchy, with good control, but not overly compressed. These ankle-length leggings are a breathable lycra, with hidden drawstring for a custom fit at the waist. Plus, they’re cute!!
I paired them with a matching tank in the softest jersey modal cotton with a cute side tie.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small in both, but would prefer an XS in the leggings…so they’re true to size.

We know Walmart has a great assortment of electronics, but did you know they have tons of fitness trackers, too?

For a second look, I found some great running shorts…perfect for outdoor exercise! They have a built-in liner, and are lightweight with a cute contrasting trim. And even better, they come in a 2-pack for under $12!
I paired them with a cotton tank in my favorite racerback silhouette…so soft and perfect for steamy workouts. I was really surprised by the comfort and support of this sports bra, too. Plus, it’s a true racerback shape, so it layers well with racerback tanks.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small in everything. I’d size up one in the sports bra.

Looks like we’re adding athletic wear to the list of things Walmart does well, right?! I love cute workout wear, but don’t always love spending a small fortune. It’s great to have affordable options like these from Walmart to pepper in my closet. Have you tried them? What Walmart finds are you loving these days?
