My mom and I have a close, special relationship, and I’m so grateful to have her in my life. She is always smiling and laughing, and just so much fun to be around. Babygirl and I decided we needed a little girl time, so we invited ‘Noonie’ to join us for an early Mother’s Day Tea. We put on our favorite dresses, and headed to an adorable neighborhood café for a 3-course tea, fit for a princess.

I thought about hosting a tea party at home, but sometimes it’s nice to let others pamper you!

I don’t know much about tea (except sweet tea…I’m a connoisseur of that!), and there were so many to choose from, but we thought Mother’s Bouquet was pretty suitable for the occasion.

A first course of scones, sweet breads, fruit, fresh cream and jam…I’m drooling just remembering it!

Could my mom be any prettier?! Good gracious I hope I inherited her genes…because I sure didn’t get her sweet spirit.

Babygirl chose a caffeine-free cinnamon tea, and loved having her own pot and fancy cup. I’m surprised her pinkie isn’t up in this picture…she was reeeeally into the fanciness of it all!

Second course was assorted tea sandwiches and tomato soup. Which I, of course, ate with another sweet bread.
I don’t know how we did it, but we managed to finish off the third course of cupcakes and fruit.

My pretty Boden dress was just perfect for the afternoon…I love the mix of colors, and light, airy swing of the skirt.

I think it’s obvious where I got my love of wearing bright colors!

Have you taken the time to enjoy the special people in your life? What plans do you have for celebrating Mother’s Day? Have you ever totally gorged on a 3-course tea?!?
