Happy April, friends! How was your holiday weekend? Between Easter and Sloan’s 18th birthday, ours was extra special!
Clearly I’m feeling nostalgic because I surprised the kids with a little egg hunt! It’s been many, many years since we’ve done that, so they first looked at me like I was crazy, then dashed out to the backyard! Turns out the Easter Bunny brings candy and cash now, so it’s safe to say they loved it, ha!
Also, now that they’re both older, does it ever change from referring to them as ‘the kids’? Or regardless of age, they’ll always be my little babes? Sigh. I’m not ready for all this change.

I couldn’t believe this belted mini-dress wasn’t designer… both the style and quality are so good! It’s a full shirt dress, with buttons along the front and puffed sleeves. I love the mix of prints, and the belt gives it a flattering shape.

Our kids are 27 and 29, and you can darn well bet that we would be having an Easter egg hunt if they were both home for Easter. And I’m pretty sure they’d be happy. I was looking at how many of the plants are up in my gardens and how many flowers were blooming, and thinking that this would have been a great year for a hunt. Our kids will ALWAYS be our kids, and I sometimes refer to them as the boy child or the girl child on FB, and my mom always has to point out that they’re not children anymore. And I always have to tell her that they will always be my children, so it’s appropriate. It’s one of the many ways I still let her push my buttons. Lol. I’m glad you had both of your babies home for Sloan’s birthday and for Easter!!
