Hi Sugarplum!

White Tee | Black Skirt & Statement Necklace

August 18, 2016

White Tee Week continues today, with a sassy look for a fun night out. If you’ve missed any of the outfits from this {5 Ways} series, see Day 1 with a floral skirt here, Day 2 with a blazer & bootcut here, and yesterday’s white on white here.

Today I’m swapping out my favorite scoopneck tee for a traditional crewneck style, and paired it with a black skirt and heels, then added some sass with a statement necklace and leopard clutch.

Statement Necklace | Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings

My favorite scoopneck tee would work in the outfit, as well, but the higher neckline of the crewneck allows the necklace to take centerstage. My actual tee is a pricey one (it was a birthday gift years ago!), but I sigh in relaxed contentment every time I wear it because it’s so soft and perfectly fitted. However, it’s not the tee that makes the outfit, but the combination of all the elements, so any white tee will do!
Sugarplum Style Tip: Keep your tee fitted when paired with a loose or voluminous bottom. The goal is to create two contrasting halves.

This look could easily transition from Weekend to Work by swapping in a black pencil skirt, and trading the clutch for a chic satchel bag. And if the necklace is too much for your office, throw on some pearls instead. Which has been your favorite look so far this week? See you tomorrow for the final outfit in the White Tee series…which also happens to be my basic Fall uniform!
