Besides our annual trip to the Texas coast, traveling wasn’t in the budget when I was growing up. But the travel bug was still embedded in me at an early age. I remember my grandparents taking long, extended trips to far off places, and I loved hearing their stories and seeing the photos when they’d return (usually toting a really cool gift for me, local to the area they visited). I think that planted the seed in me that travel was obtainable. Seeing the world wasn’t just something brave, rich people did.
The first time I left the country was with Mr. SP, 21 years ago (we went to Jamaica)…and of course I was nervous, but it was so exhilarating and eye-opening! Not to mention, humbling. That was the only taste I needed, and ever since, we’ve made it a priority to see the world, and see it together.
One of the areas my grandparents returned to again and again, was Provence, France…and so, it’s been on my bucket list for many years…and today, we get to spend the day there. I know they’ll both be on my mind and heart, and I can’t wait to experience the place they loved so much…if even for only a day.
I haven’t decided what I’ll wear yet, but this dress is a contender! And of course, I’ll have my lips on, and my nails will be bright…because my grandmother wouldn’t have it any other way!

I bought that dress too and wore it too a wedding this past weekend. It was a casual wedding and it was raining. I didn't have a white jacket so I wore it with a shot dark denim jacket. It's not as summery but it was still cute.
