I guess Summer is here to stay, I mean, with it being July and 100-degrees everyday! I am constantly changing things up at home, and today I thought I’d share a few switch-a-roos I made for Summer.
The coffee table decor is an easy way to update. By adding a tropical leaf and coral, I have instant Summer. The small pieces of coral were picked up on our trip to Yelapa, Mexico, and are striking against a dark bowl. The tray I found at Tuesday Morning for a steal. It has an ‘T’ monogrammed on it, but I just covered it up with books until I find the perfect fabric to line it (like I did here). The faux antler is Elle Decor for Kohls, on clearance!
I did some furniture shuffling too. The white club chair found a better home in the cozy Den (i.e. TV Room), and the cane barrel chair makes a better fit for the Living Room. I added the light throw until I decide on a fabric for new cushions. You starting to see a pattern here? The Living Room is next on my Hit List.
The side table decor was lightened up with a conch shell and silver bowl of sea glass.
It’s hard to resist throw pillows, especially when they are on sale and in a favorite fabric! So the sofa has a new pop of color.
The console table now holds a collection of sand dollars found on our trip to Sanibel. (I think these lamps are on their way out, thanks to Lamp-A-Looza, Part 2!)
My focus may be turning to the Living Room, but that doesn’t keep me from doing some changes in the Kitchen/Breakfast Room. I’m dying to paint the walls, and add some pops of a bright color. I’m trying out this pinky/red Calypso for Target tray. And I don’t know what kind of plant this is, but I love it!
The backyard has already seen updates with a new fence, no-sew pillows and a DIY Convex Starburst Mirror. And now the 6-year-old Crate and Barrel tables benefited from a new coat of paint…this year in Aqua. I like how they tie in with the Weathered Back Door.
And if all this in-your-face beach decor didn’t let on that it’s Summer, the grating melody of the Ice Cream Truck sure does.
Did you spot our friend in the grass? No, that’s not yard art, it’s one of the bunnies born in our flower pot (we’re assuming). Clearly he’s not too spooked by us.
Stay tuned for my Living Room plans. What Summer changes have you made in your decor? Happy weekend!
