Hey friends, how was your weekend? It was a scorcher here, so we split our time between the pool and the couch, and it was perfect! I barely took this snuggly cardigan off the entire time we were home…that is, when Little Miss wasn’t wearing it. I’m actually considering getting her one of her own for Christmas…would that be the strangest gift ever for a kid? Oh well, whatever it takes to get mine back!
And, for the first time ever, we’re dropping both kids at camp this morning…overnight camp for the whole week! I don’t remember the last time Mr. SP and I had an entire night at home without one of them, let alone, five nights. Of course I’ll miss them, and worry about how Little Miss is handling her first camp experience, but I’m also pretty giddy with the freedom!
Today it’s time for another round of Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share on Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. My hope is that they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things.
And friends, it’s been a hot one…so the layers are few and the outfits simple! I had a fun girl’s weekend in Round Top, which is quite possibly the cutest small Texas town I’ve ever visited…and this top was perfect for the laid-back, casual vibes. Adding the tassel earrings made the whole outfit extra fun.
Fit Tip: These cut-offs are my most comfortable shorts and look so cute with most everything. They run true-to-size, I’m wearing a 26.
Striped Top | Jean Shorts | Earrings | Sandals | Sunglasses
This dress has come in handy so many times this Summer…it has a way of looking dressed up, but is lightweight and easy to wear. It dresses up with just the addition of tassel earrings.
I’m not ready to pack away my sandals, but this combo will be a Fall go-to for sure.
Fit Tip: These booties are so light and comfy, but size up one-half.
Favorite Tee | Distressed Jeans | Pendant Necklace | Booties
Of course I couldn’t resist posing in front of a pink door?! #bloggermove I love the print of this dress so much I’m tempted to grab the skirt!
Dress | Earrings | Straw Clutch | Sandals
I stayed at the Junk Gypsies new Wander Inn while in Round Top, and mornings on this porch were quiet bliss. Plus, these pajamas are made of the same material as newborn jammies, which made it even harder to get moving on my day.
I played hooky from life last weekend and stayed in this cuddly cardigan and mismatched pjs all day. It was perfect.
Cozy Cardigan | Tee | Shorts
More Fall essentials, which are surprisingly still fully-stocked, and on sale!
Striped Tee | Distressed Jeans | Booties | Phone Case | Necklace | Bracelet
My whirlwind trip to New York last week with HomeGoods included the most delicious dinner at ABC Kitchen…so of course I opted for a swing dress, which left room for all the desserts!
Dress | Pendant Necklace | Sandals | Bra
Our son got his driver’s license this week and we celebrated with dinner out. Who else is always looking for an excuse to get out of cooking?!
Fit Tip: This dress comes in petite sizing, which means no hemming for me! I’m in an XS petite.
Maxi Dress | Earrings | Sandals | Clutch
Usually my travel style is all about comfort, but in this instance, I was going straight from the airport to the HomeGoods studio in New York…so I needed to look cute, too. This ruffle top and earring combo was perfect…and fortunately I managed to keep the jeans clean! And yes, my business cards say ‘Taco Aficionado.’ It’s my unofficial (self-appointed) title.
Ruffle Top | White Jeans | Sandals | Earrings | Business Cards
Oh look, another dinner out and another flirty dress. I’m not mad about this no-cooking routine I’ve been in, either! (This fun tiered dress is 40% off!)
Tiered Dress | Sandals | Earrings | Clutch
Blue has been my color of choice this Summer…and I love it paired with a fresh pop of yellow!
Striped Top | Jean Shorts | Sandals | Earrings | Pineapple Trim Straw Hat
Finally, these pieces from a recent Dressing Room Diaries were a big hit on social, so I wanted to be sure you saw them, too.
Ruffle Track Jacket | Distressed Jeans | Booties | Ruffle Top | Dark Jeans | Peep Toe Booties
That’s it for today, I hope you found some new outfit inspiration, and fresh ideas for mixing things up in your closet! Also, how versatile are these sandals?! I had no idea I’d been wearing them so frequently! But it’s clear why I reach for them all the time…not only are they chic and comfy, but they literally go with everything from cut-off shorts to evening dresses! Mine are the ‘makeup’ color, and the perfect neutral for my skin tone.
