Cheers to Friday! What do you have planned for the weekend? We’re packing up the teenager, and driving him to East Texas for camp. It’s going to be so quiet around here without him, but we also look forward to the time with just Little Miss.
UPDATE: I am devastated to wake up this morning to the unfathomable news in Dallas. My thoughts and prayers are with the brave officers and their families. And this great city.
Today it’s your monthly dose of Sugarplum Style…snapshots of my everyday outfits I post to Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing-and-matching items in my closet. This round is kind of a mixed bag since it includes some outfits from our trip.
My off-the-shoulder obsession continues with this date-night-ready dress. The best part is the knit lining, so it’s super soft. This one has a similar look, but I’d size up. Have you heard of the Bellabeat Leaf? It’s like a fitness tracker specific for women (it tracks sleep and monthly cycle, too)…I’ve only be wearing it a few days, but so far I’m hooked!
We’ve had some steamy days recently, so I’ve taken to living in shift dresses. The stripes of this one make it a little sportier and casual, perfect for lake nights.
It was a little warm the day our ship disembarked in Rome, but since we were traveling from ship to bus, then train to car, I wanted to be comfortable and able to drag my bag up and down stairs without worrying about wardrobe malfunctions. Jeans and a tee were perfect. And perfectly comfortable, too.
The cruise had a packed itinerary (more recaps coming next week!), with only one day at sea…I kept it simple for exploring the ship and captain’s bridge.
This dress was definitely the most popular of all my travel style posts…rightfully so with the darling embroidery, full lining and pockets! Oh, and now back in stock! (See more from our day in Marbella, Spain.)
Are you sick of this striped bag yet?! I carried it everywhere…turns out it’s a great carry-on for travel, day bag for schlepping around, and days by the pool.
Also, I had no idea just how often I reach for these sneakers!! But they’re honestly the most comfortable shoes I have…next to flip-flops anyway. I’ve had a lot of questions about how to keep them clean, and I wish I had some sage advice for you, but I haven’t done one thing!?
I wore them all over Europe, and almost daily since, and they look good as new! I’ll probably treat them with some Scotch Guard soon…and a good scrubbing with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser usually does the trick on scuffs.
This maxi dress is an oldie but goodie, and now back in tons of colors and patterns…and on sale for $38! The adjustable straps mean I didn’t have to hem it, either!
Sometimes I get in the habit of only reaching for tees this time of year, but with the sleeves rolled up, a lightweight button-up can be just as cool. And obviously cuter.
Would you believe this view is real, and I’m not standing in front of a green screen?! Positano, Italy is absolutely heaven on earth…I can’t wait to recap it for you!
I hope these posts inspire you to create new combinations from your closet! The key isn’t to have more clothes, but to mix up what you do have in new and different ways. Except these sneakers and this pom pom clutch, you need those. #trustme #enabler
You can catch up with past installments of Sugarplum Style here, or follow my everyday-style outfits on InstaGram. Make sure you’re following my Facebook page, too…that’s where I post deals, steals, sales and goodies! Happy weekend, lovebugs!

Thank you for the great looks. What exactly would you suggest to wear for undergarments when sporting a racerback dress or maybe a floral dress such as the one you have listed on your post?
I've been thinking about the pink shift dress you love, but was curious if it'd be too "tent" like on me. I'm 5'4" (1/2) and moderately pear shaped. Thoughts ? AND I've tried on the Shoreline converse and they instantly hurt my feet because they are so flat. Are you the type that wear any kind of shoe? I too am from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and am heartbroken for our city.
I'm going to have to pin every single thing here! Gorgeous!
Love all of your outfits!
Love these outfits! The sneakers are on my wish list! Happy weekend 🙂
You in front of the fireworks stand. You look 14. MAYBE 15. So flipping cute.
Prayers for your men in blue

Thanks so much! I linked the bra I'm wearing with those dresses…I'm pretty much obsessed with it! xo
My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved in this horrific tragedy. Why do people think more violence is the answer???? Heartbreaking.
You were first thing on my mind yesterday! Glad I got to hear your voice. Big hugs friend!
