Sugarplum Style, Vol. 16

I can’t thank you enough for your sweet comments and emails regarding our magazine feature! Your genuine excitement and support overwhelms me…and makes me wish we knew each other in ‘real life’! I have nothing but love and admiration for my fellow bloggers, and all women working towards their dreams, and feel so grateful to be part of this giving community!

Today is time for another Sugarplum Style…snapshots of my everyday outfits, created by mixing-and-matching items in my closet. Apparently as the weather heats up, my creativity with outfits cools down, and I find myself reaching for the same lightweight pieces over and over. It’s like the heat zaps my desire to even get dressed…I want to stay inside wrapped in my latest obsession!

Plaid is typically synonymous with Fall, but a bright-colored plaid in a lightweight cotton is just as cute paired with white in the warmer months. I love this one and this one, too.

I’ve been dying for this sold out, dog-embroidered cap for months…and finally my high-school stalking skills paid off! Don’t act like you weren’t a grade-A sleuth, too! Seriously, my friends and I were so good at hunting boys down, we could have found Bin Laden in under a week. #Imkidding

This maxi is so soft, it’s like wearing pajamas in public. It’s too hot for my favorite jean and utility jackets, so I’ve been wearing white and chambray shirts to combat the chilly air-conditioning. They add a cute layer, without a lot of bulk.

Clearly pink is my signature color. Or should I say, ‘Pink is mah signachuh culluh!’ #namethatmovie You can wear the same hue from head-to-toe, just make sure they are opposite intensities. And the black and white stripes kept it from being overly sweet.

I didn’t have any red in my closet, so this was as close as I got for my fourth of July outfit. I’ve since added this sweater in red, and must say, I’m pretty smitten with the color!

This dress has been getting a lot of action…as shown in this {Day to Night} post.

This romper was sold out in my regular size, so I took a chance and ordered one size up in the Petite…JACKPOT! So keep that little nugget in mind when you’re shopping items with dwindling inventory.

The outfit is casual, comfy, and cool…but was still pulled-together enough for traveling home from the Haven conference last week. I’ll be sharing the rest of what I packed and wore soon. And yes, I snapped the pic in the security line…Atlanta, your lines are looooong!

Think a bright, floral skirt like this can only been worn one or two ways? Well, think again! This makes #5 for me, and I’ll show you soon in a {5 Ways} post. #aptlynamed

If a top passes the sweat-test, it’s going to be on repeat this month! I promise I’m wearing pants. #oramI?

I stopped by the new Accessory Concierge shop in Dallas, and this fabulous necklace looked so great with my outfit, I had to wear it home! I had a fun {Day to Night} post ready with this skirt, but it sold out after I posted this on InstaGram! Do you want to see it anyway, for inspiration for similar skirts you may have?

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style

I hope these posts inspire you to create new combinations from your closet! The key isn’t to have more clothes, but to mix up what you do have in new and different ways.
