Happy Monday, friends, and welcome back to a new week! Our weekend was equal parts busy and relaxing… the best kind, don’t you think? I had a fun and busy 24-hours of Mom’s Day at my son’s college… then a chill day with Little Miss yesterday.
She’s only had her license a week, and already I miss her! I didn’t realize how much we chatted in the car, so now that I’m no longer carpooling her everywhere, I’m missing out on her daily updates! So yesterday we went for a Starbucks date and Sunday drive, and it fed my mama heart. We’ll definitely need to make those a regular thing. The trick is to let them drive so they aren’t able to get on their phones… then there’s even more talking! 😉
Texas is in full-blown Spring now, which means crazy storms, gusting winds, and absolutely everything blooming! It’s all worth it when it means I get to wear all the colorful Spring florals and fabrics, and dresses are always my faves. A classic shirtdress, in a flattering fit-and-flare shape and the cutest preppy gingham! This dress is a crisp, lightweight cotton poplin, but not stiff in the slightest. The sleeves are fitted and to the elbow, with a little bow for added feminine style.
Fit Tip: It’s true to size, I’m wearing a 2, but size up if you prefer a looser sleeve.

How about a sassy one-shoulder option? I love the bold blue and hot pink of this graphic floral, and the shape is so easy and comfortable! It’s made of a slightly stretchy woven jersey, with great flow and a fluttered shoulder and hem.

One of my faves of the batch, I wore this cutie two days in a row after this shoot! It’s made of a soft, cotton gauze, but doesn’t wrinkle easily. It has a smocked bodice, with stretchy smocked straps for a super comfy fit.

This cheery yellow floral is made of a soft chiffon, with a faux-wrap top and puffed sleeves with elastic cuffs. The waist is a comfy elastic, as well, with an optional tie belt.

And finally, this flirty number is the prettiest lilac (the color of the season!), with long sleeves and a short skirt. The smocked waist and cuffs are wide and comfy, for a flattering shape. The body is fully lined, but the sleeves sheer, and the buttons are operational.

Oops, it was “frozen”, not “froze”. She is almost grown up and gone, but I promise, they do come back. They go out and figure out life and themselves. I wish her the best. It only gets better! : )
