Redbook magazine totally blew my mind this month when they included one of my all-time favorite projects, the {DIY} Otomi Table, in the ‘Spraypaint Makeovers’ story of the March issue (see the story and painting tips here). It’s a total out-of-body experience to see my name in print…and in a magazine I’ve been reading for years, no less!
As soon as a sweet reader alerted me to it, we raced to the newsstand, where my whole family stood staring at it, with mouths gaping open. I mean, I know it’s a tiny piece, but still, it’s so cool! And a word of advice to fellow bloggers…save high-resolution images of your projects…you never know when a magazine might come knocking! (I didn’t have a good high-res, hence why it ran so small. #lessonlearned)
The bright colors, fun shapes, and time I spent creating it with my aunt, make the Otomi Table not only my favorite spraypaint project to date, but one of my favorite projects period! She’s already floating around the new patio, looking for her latest spot to cheer up.
Of course with all these projects comes a hefty supply of paint, so this is how I keep all those cans organized.
Is your area warm enough to spraypaint yet? What project have you been waiting all Winter to tackle?! I’ve still yet to even find my spraypaint after the move…so I guess I’d better do that first.
That Otomi Table is so fun and gorgeous. Congrats on the feature and nope it's not warm enough here yet. Can you believe we are having another snow storm on Friday for the first day of spring. Booooooo
How awesome to be featured in a magazine … even if it's small! 🙂 Gosh, I can't remember the last time I picked up a can of spray paint. I've been knee-deep in pillows for months! I have black powder-coated shelving in my studio, similar to the bar cart you spray painted in gold. I'm curious — how has that held up paint-wise? Hollie
That bar cart has been outside all season (covered), and not a single chip!!!
Glad to know I'm not the only one addicted to spray paint! Oops- that doesn't sound good, does it? I just love the way you can transform pieces with a quick can of paint, and if you make a mistake or pick the wrong color, you can fix it easily and for little $$. My kind of project!
I saw that in Redbook! Congrats it's so cute! I think I'll be trying some of these projects. I like those gold vases too!
That's super exciting! Congrats! If I were you I'd so frame that 🙂
Congratulations Cassie on the feature in the magazine! Very exciting! That table has been one of my favorites of yours. So vibrant and fun.
Saw this post trying to find another you had, and wondered if you saw your dining space in the new HGTV mag this month? Just spotted it this morning. Super cute!
