{Smitten} Keurig, Where Have You Been All My Life?!

While the big purchases can be nauseating exciting, it’s the little things that make my heart race. Small touches, like a new throw pillow, basket planter, or magazine rack,
can make all the difference in a room. And it always seems to be those little things (I’m talking about you, pretty books!) that bring me the most joy. My latest object of
affection isn’t necessarily cheap, but it’s life-changing!

Remember when I showed you our cute little coffee set-up? And waxed poetic about how much we love coffee and coffee time around here? Well, not one week later our Mr. Coffee ground to a halt. (You see what I did there? Punny, huh?)

Hi Sugarplum | Morning Coffee

I’d been dreaming of a Keurig, but it seemed like such an unnecessary luxury…especially since we had a perfectly good coffee maker. We went exactly one long day without a coffee maker before I started pricing new ones. I discovered a decent drip coffee maker wasn’t much less than a basic Keurig. So we went for it!

Hi Sugarplum | Keurig love

How can such an insignificant Kitchen appliance be such a life-changer?! For starters, there’s no more grinding beans, or spilled grounds…no cleaning the filter or rinsing the pot…no waiting for it to brew, or someone taking the last cup….and best of all, no more wondering if the Mister is going to make the coffee, or if I have to get up and do it! It’s almost like vacation every morning…where someone else makes the coffee!

It’s eliminated a lot of the coffee paraphernalia we had on the Kitchen counters, too. I rummaged up a cute candle-holder from the depths of my closet, and piled the K-cups in it. I like using something unexpected.

Hi Sugarplum | Keurig love

The rest of the K-cups are stored in the ‘Breakfast’ bin in our Pantry (still fully organized after 1 year, thankyouverymuch!).

I love how clean it looks sitting on the counter, too. That cutest-mug-ever can be found here.

Hi Sugarplum | Keurig love

Okay, I realize I need to calm down because I’m sounding crazier than usual, but I love this thing! Smitten doesn’t even come close! Are you having a love affair with a Keurig? Where do you keep all the K-cups?

You know what they say…. Once you go Keurig, you never go back!!! I gave up my regular coffee maker years ago. Welcome to the club lady! My K-cups are stored out of sight in a cabinet above my machine. I have a turn-stile K-cup organizer, but it's kind of a waste. Have fun and enjoy!!!

  2. I do NOT have a keurig but, weird enough, tried one at my vet's office and then again a few weeks ago at my sister in laws house. Of course, now I want one (and was hoping this was a giveaway šŸ˜‰
They both had this neat little storage tray that that their keurig sat on and it stored their kcups. I found one here: http://www.shoffee.com/keurig-k-cups/kcup-accessories/nifty-under-keurig-k-cup-drawer-holds-36.html

  3. Life changing. It really is!! I keep my k-cups in the cabinet under my Keurig. Love, love, love it!!

  4. I LOVE my mini Keurig! Fiance got one for me a couple Christmas's ago and it's perfect because with just the two of us in the house and me being the only coffee drinker, it works. I never drank more than a cup or two from a pot so I felt wasteful brewing a whole pot and throwing out most of it.

Also, you should definitely invest in one of these little guys – http://www.yourstoreonline.net/kcup_replacement_coffee_filter_set/id2042447/product.html?scomp=googleshopping&gclid=ckfnsloiubgcfcie4aodytaaqg

Use your own coffee grounds and just keep reusing the filter so you don't have to buy k cups all the time (it can add up!). I still like to keep a variety of k cups for when I have guests and my little organizer is a 3-drawer set up. I like it bc I can also store stuff on top of it on the counter. Enjoy it!!

  5. Ohhh but you aren't crazy.. because then I would be. I was the same way when I got mine. I love it. I love how it looks on my counter. I love how it works and that it is always there just ready for me to use! Nope you aren't crazy!

  6. I've been a Keurig-crazy-person for about 5 years now. I asked for it for Christmas from my parents in college and I always say it's the gift that keeps on giving! It's my very most favorite appliance. I don't know how you've lived without it for so long! šŸ˜‰

We've had a Keurig for 3 years now, and I couldn't live without it!! And I must say that their customer service is amazing. Mine started leaking after a little over a year (past my warranty expiration), but I called them, stated the problem, and they had a brand new brewer shipped to my house within days. Hopefully you won't have any issues with yours, but if you do don't worry–they'll make it right!

Love my Keurig! I've been a convert for many years. I store a supply of my cups in a cookie jar on the counter, but I buy them in bulk at Costco, so the overflow is in a bin in the pantry.

Good use of a pun on a Thursday morning! I use Vias for all the same reasons you gave for single cups making life easier and when it comes to waking up each morning, ease is important! I'm smitten with your pantry- I might just cook if mine looked like that;)

I can always appreciate a good pun!

I think someone else mentioned it but you should also look in to the canister that holds grounds…we were tired of buying the cups and discovered it a while ago and it has been life changing. Granted you still have grounds spilled sometimes but it's very convenient.

I absolutely LOVE my Keurig. I honestly keep a few k-cups on the carousel and the rest in the boxes in the pantry. I really need to find a cute basket or bin to store them in though.

We have the Breville stainless version (had an original one years ago when they came out)…it is the BOMB! It get used several times a day. We love that everyone gets to pick what they like, strong, decaf, tea, iced tea/coffee, lemonade, hot cider…etc. I have an entire cabinet dedicated to our coffee/tea/keurig supplies.

  15. I am in love with my Keurig. It is a life changer! If there was a fire I would get the family out and grab the Keurig…well, probably not, but I would think about it. I love your mugs, do you mind sharing where you got them? Thanks! xo Kristin http://www.bliss-athome.com

I love my Keurig. My husband bought it for me 2 1/2 years ago when I quit my job to stay home with two kids. I always tell him it was the best gift I ever got. We still have a regular coffee-maker on the counter. It gets used on weekends and when the hubby works from home. I keep the k-cups in one of those metal drawers that fits under the machine but I like the idea of a cookie jar or just a drawer in the kitchen. My counters always look so cluttered.

  18. I am the only one in my house that drinks coffee so the Keurig was the perfect thing to have! Mine is red. I heart it. Alot. So glad you are on the bandwagon!

    Congratulations!

  20. I've actually been wanting one of these! I'm slowly developing a taste/love of coffee, but I'd never need a full pot for my one cup every now and then. It's officially going on the Christmas list!

  21. I'll be honest, when looking at your kitchen photos and coffee area organization post, I was surprised you didn't have one :)… I've had mine for years and have even converted my husband to a coffee drinker! We love our Keurig! We keep a stash in the front of the utensil drawer, below the Keurig and the rest in the pantry. I leave them in the box, we buy Donut House from Costco. Love the idea of using a unique/ pretty container to hold them!

We have the Tassimo brewer, which at the time we received ours for a wedding gift, both brands were just making there debut. Well, i guess we chose the wrong brand because the Keurig has SOOO much more coffee & tea choices out there. Nonetheless, i do absolutely adore ours and will keep loving it until the day its dripped its last drop. It makes the morning routine that much shorter. And when you are running around to get kids ready for school in the morning, time is EVERYTHING! Have a great weekend, lovebug XoXoX

  24. When we move back to the states next year from overseas, I am sure that will be one of our first purchases. My hubby keeps eyeing them!

  25. Our Mr. Coffee died on us too! Unfortunately we think it happened after we had a big storm and failed to unplug it "just in case". The light turns on and it beeps but it doesn't do anything else – WOMP! We are seriously considering a Keurig too, but it does seem like a lot of money! Especially since we have a little one on the way. I may be going crazy here but knowing that we have a baby on the way makes me second guess EVERY OTHER NON BABY RELATED purchase. Ha!

  26. Oh! I forgot to mention! My mom has a Keurig and last year I got her one of these shelf type things where you set the Keurig on top and there's a drawer underneath where you can lay out the K Cups so that you don't have to sift through them all to find the kind you want. I got in Amazon if you want to see what I'm talking about. Just type in "K Cup holder" and I'm sure something similar will pop up. =]

LOVE LOVE our Keurig. We bought the little revolving cup holder to hold our cups. Also, if you have a Bed Bath & Beyond nearby, just save all those coupons that you get in the mail and use them to buy your KCups. They have dozens of flavors.

    LOVE my KEURIG!!!
