You guys have shown that you love to give your opinion! And I love it…your feedback is invaluable. I mean really, not many people in my ‘real’ life would humor me while I debated the merits of green or blue lamps, and navy or pink doors!
These decisions are important, right!? And even though your votes put blue as top choice for door colors in our Pool Bathroom…..
|The hinges need to be painted navy.|
It wasn’t enough to convince me I was
completely crazy for going pink! In fact, blue beat pink by only 10 votes! I love them….but at the same time I’m not so sure. But it’s only paint, so if I’m not petting them once all the accessories are in place, I’ll just paint them again!
This tiny space is really hard to photograph, and the door color was found on the Ooops Shelf at Home Depot, so I can’t give you a name. But it’s a reddish pink, similar to Babygirl’s bed.
This totally random and boring picture shows a true depiction of the door, wall and ceiling colors.
And you may recall we had some problems pop up after we thought the renovation was complete. Turns out the gap in the frameless shower door was too wide, so a good amount of water was escaping. I was ready to
suggest demand a new door (thanks to your encouragement), but maybe not after seeing their fix.
I assumed a strip of silicone sweep running up the center of the glass would look horrible. But truthfully, you can’t even see it! Mr. Glass Guy told us to live with it for a bit, and if we don’t like it he’ll refit the glass.
And the damage made to the dry wall by the escaped water?
Our rockstar contractor tiled over it to protect the wall from any future escapees.
I also gave the painter a free pass on the walls (he used a nappy roller when we were going for a smooth lacquer finish), but told him to remember this when it comes time to paint my Dining Room! He is coming back for all the necessary touch-ups though. (See, I’m not a
The light fixture came with shades, so I’m trying it with and without. I thought the round bulbs looked more modern, but turns out, they look a little (ahem) phallic.
Now it’s time to get busy accessorizing. And I know some of you are balking at the Crayola box happening in here. But keep in mind, it’s the bathroom right off the pool…so a certain amount of creative freedom is allowed. I hope.
I like the pink door, and now that you say it, the lights do look better with the shade!
shebang! pink was the right color! love it!
Well, I was one that voted for navy but I LOVE the pink! So fun – especially for a pool bath!
Bwah hahaha! Yep, definitely needs the shades 😀 The doors are so cool! I'm really digging this bathroom.
Definitely needs the shades, and I am sure you will come up with some way to jazz them up. Great idea tiling the edge!!
Love the pink door. It's a great color combo that I never would have had the guts to do. And you even found a navy and pink rug!!! I think the light needs some sort of shade.
The colors are so fun together, they look fabulous 🙂 And the tiled door surround looks great, too… you'd never know it was a fix! 🙂
I'm a huge fan! I voted for pink, and I think it looks amazing. 🙂
Fun, happy, modern! LOVE it!
Actually…. I love the pink door. It's funny… I liked the navy walls and voted for a navy door… but now after seeing the pink door… I'm not digging the walls as much. Still love the navy woodwork and vanity. Looking at that great rug… I'm thinking white walls would really pop.
Love the pink door! And I'd say the lights definitely need a shade of some kind… hehehe
Personally I do love this room! I'm crazy about color. I don't know if it's because my hubs won't let me go color crazy in our house, but I LOVE IT!
Way to step out girlie. Love the pink.
Happy your water problems are solved! Love the color choices! After all experimenting with color is so easy!!
So cute!!!! I voted for blue but I'm glad that you didn't listen to me! You should definitely have fun with this bathroom! Can't wait to see it all come together!!!
That blue and pink combination were made for each other. I adore it!
That is a very happy looking bathroom. I voted for blue (I remembered) but I like the pink. And the shower fix really looks good. I was surprised because we had a similar problem and when they tried to remedy it this way it looked awful.
As someone who actually works in decorative plumbing, we have a joke that we shouldn't worry too much when people buy cheap fixtures…they will be back soon enough when their cheap pieces aren't functioning properly and they have come to their senses.
love the pink! and yes girl, keep those shades on those bulbs… yikes! HAHAAA
So glad you chose the pink! Shades definitely need to be on those naughty lights.
The pink looks amaaaazing! Love the bright, fun colors..way to step out, girl!!
Love the pink door with the navy, it's so bold and fun.
Oh Cassie, how I love your color-lovin' ways!!! I'm totally in love with that pink/navy combo, I think it looks fantastic…and the shower looks awesome! But I'm most impressed with the pink doors. *sigh* I'm in love <3
looks so good!!! Love the pink doors! What a FUN bathroom!
YAY! I wanted pink all the way. So adorable. I want to pop over just to use the super cool bathroom!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE IT!!! I love the pink!!!! Blue is safer, but pink is AWESOMER!!! 🙂
That shade of pink ROCKS Cassie! And it looks like you found the perfect rug too!
Dayum, that is a sweet pooper!
Seriously, nice job. I'm glad the shower door looks good with the silicone, too.
L-O-V-E the pink door! I say pink, always pink! Plus, how can you go wrong with pink and navy? Add some kelly green and I am straight back in Kindergarten wearing my Lacoste outfits!
LOVE it! Man, your bathroom still makes me wish I painted my pool bath ceiling turquoise…might have to add it to the honey-do list afterall!
you only live once, cassie. why not have hot pink doors? 🙂
