Painted Chest & a Winner!

Hi loves!! I’m back from my Girl’s Weekend, and still trying to milk the final days of my birthday. (Thanksgiving always rolls around and hogs the limelight!) I didn’t get any new projects done this weekend for Babygirl’s room, but I can show you this from a few weekends ago.

Lamest before and after ever…but I wanted to show proof of progress!! This World Market chest has gotten a little dingy over the years:

Were you expecting a different kind of chest based on my headline?! Shame on you pervs! If you’re looking for 12-year-old boy humor, you’re on the wrong blog. We are nothing but Klassy at Hi Sugarplum! (yes, with a capitol K!)

I hauled my chest out to the garage and gave it a fresh coat of spraypaint that’s what she said:

You were expecting a drastic change, right? Nope, sorry, I actually showed a shred of restraint for once. But she needed it, didn’t she?

I was dying to switch out the knobs to some cute ones from this amazing cheap collection, but the wicker ones are nailed in and not coming out without seriously damaging the chest.

I was able to upgrade one area…took the ‘grandma’s-in-the-house’ paper:

And replaced it with the fun Target gift wrap I used on the Fancy Pants Highboy Dresser:

This is how I occupied my children while mama was inhaling fumes I painted:

(I blacked out my plate numbers so you can’t mooch off my tolltag!)

Surely I’m not the only one who uses their kids for cheap labor convinces their kids certain household chores are fun?!

Let’s get to the part you’re actually here for….the winner of the $55 CSN Gift Card!!!!

Congrats Averill (check out her cute blog, Odi et Amo)! Shoot me an email and I’ll give you the scoop to collect your $55 shopping spree! I have a soft spot for nurseries, so let us know what you choose!

Come back tomorrow when my buzz has worn off hopefully I’ll have shaken the influence from the last few days.

it looks so much better! wicker is so hard to keep looking fresh because the dust and dirt just settles in all those grooves you can't get to. i love the new paper in it- so much more fun!

Amazing what a little paint can do, even if it "is" the same color! Too funny about the kiddos washing the cars!! Mine now ask dad for $25 to take theirs to the hand car wash place! LOL

I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you that thing will last forever! Kason's furniture is my old wicker furniture from when I was little. It's over 20 years old and has seen so much spray paint, you can't even see holes between the wicker. It still looks fantastic though! 🙂

You're writing is so funny! You always have me laughing. The chest looks great, and the paper is adorable. It's the little surprises I look forward to. I have a pair of gray high heels and the inside is this pink and yellow flower print. So fun!

Nice chest story, friend! Looks good. I've tried the car washing trick and mine walk away right at the part where the car dries with spots everywhere. Super awesome. Glad you had fun weekend!

Your chest looks great . . wait that's not how I mean it! The chest looks fresh and brand new! Could you just paint the knobs a different color to spruce them up a bit without damaging the chest?
