On Par with Family Date Night

How was your weekend…and Mother’s Day? Were you smothered with love, attention, and chocolate? I was blessed with all three. In fact, I had the perfect weekend trifecta…Mr. SP treated me to an afternoon all by myself at the spa, a date night with just him, and a family outing! Ah, if only every weekend could be Mother’s Day. Let’s start a petition to make that happen…who’s with me!?

When the kids were younger, we spent our fair share of time on the miniature golf courses…but now we’re ready for an upgrade. We’ve been wanting to hit up Top Golf for awhile (a point-scoring golf range), but the constant rain has been driving a wedge in our outdoor plans #punny. Seriously, we’re in ark-building mode over here! We finally caught a small break, and headed outside while we could.

Hi Sugarplum | Family Golf Date

Mr. SP was totally in his element…the rest of us were just there to hit things. And eat. But really, is there anything sweeter than these little moments between daddy and daughter?! These two are peas in a pod…

Our son caught on pretty quickly…I think just so dad would stop ‘coaching.’ 😉

I was not so agile…please note the location of the ball after my very spirited swing.

Which led to more coaching…but I’m not complaining.

The kids thought it was hilarious watching me try to hit that damn little, white ball!

I finally decided the food was more fun.

We aren’t joining a golf tour any time soon, but we had a great time trying something new together. Have you been to Top Golf? What activities do you enjoy for family date nights?

Update: My mom just informed me that people don’t usually wear maxi skirts to play golf. But I wasn’t actually playing golf…I was swinging a club and drinking beer. So HA! 😉 I also had this darling scarf on most of the time…which likely isn’t golf-friendly either. #askmeifIcare

  1. The pictures of your family are so, so sweet. It looks like you had a great time together! I, too, can barely hit the ball. I try a few times, get frustrated, and then get ice cream to eat while I watch my husband and son. Much better! 🙂
    Happy belated Mother's Day!

Greats pics of the golfing sessions. I like the one with Mr SP snuggled up behind you to "check your form". And golfing in a maxi skirt – that takes panache. :). Please pass the rain the California. We need it!

    • Ha! I was like, 'Okay, I got it!' but he kept 'trying to show me.' 😉 And funny about the maxi skirt…I wondered on our way there if my outfit choice would be an issue! I didn't even think about that when I was getting dressed! Turns out, it was fine for sitting and eating! 😉

  11. Such a fun family night. I still can't play golf after many many lessons! But the boys in our family love it. Cute family photos, too. Can't believe how big J is getting. Happens too fast.

  13. Daddy/daughter golf is the sweetest! We have a Top Golf here that everyone raves about, but it takes a long time to get a reservation. I have heard the food is great! Looks like you enjoyed it! 🙂

Seriously….I love your cute little family! You guys are adorable and I can see how much fun you have together. That picture of your hubby with your daughter almost made me cry!! It just shows how a Father's love and guidance is so important. I know she will cherish that as she grows. I think I'm going to plan an outing to TopGolf for Father's Day for my hubs. I'll be sitting and eating also:)
