New Craft Corner

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you had a great day with loved ones yesterday! We had a perfectly lazy day, ending with a ridiculous amount of food. I’m so grateful for elastic-waists today! Are you hitting up any of the Black Friday sales? On a whim, I ran over to Target last night around 11, since the Santa Wish List for an 11-year-old son is not cheap, I was hoping to snag a deal. But daaaaaaaaaang, it was total jailbreak….no deals for me. The associate practically laughed in my face when I asked if the $200 Xboxes were still available.

So today we’re staying close to home, where it’s safe and quiet! Babygirl is spending her afternoon creating masterpieces in her newly updated Art Center.

Kids Art Center

She’s grown-up a lot since her Big Girl Room Makeover, so the Art Center needed some tweaks and improvements.

You can read all the details and resources in my I Heart Organizing contributor post, so hop over to Jen’s!

Have a great weekend, lovebugs! We’re hauling out the Christmas decor, and I’ve got a slew of project ideas, so we’ll kick off the Christmas Season next week!

  3. Hi Cassie! I am bummed that you couldn't grab an Xbox… we fortunately had very good luck at Walmart but had to dodge some dodgy crowds…

If you have a GameStop place around you or a used game type store, you can buy a used Xbox for $199 all the time – they inspect them to make sure they're working well, and clean them thoroughly with hospital type antiseptic… that's what the guy at GameStop told us when we grabbed one for my husband about 3 months ago, and we have had no problems since purchase… hope this helps!

Did you develop this site yourself? Please reply back as I'm wanting to create my own personal blog and would like to find out where you got this from or exactly what the theme is called. Appreciate it!

  8. Hi, Cassie. The art center, which I found on I Heart Organizing, is cute and functional.

I'm sure you mean to be amusing; however, when you say 'OCD Whacks' is another way of referring to people who are are enthusiastic about organization, you do a great disservice to the mentally ill and to people who crave organization. Wanting to find things without searching and having systems in place to make life easier does not mean that someone has OCD.

People who do have OCD struggle each day to live with obsessive thoughts and the compulsive need to perform certain behaviors. They have a serious medical condition, not a frivolous desire to have matching baskets or color-coordinated typefaces on labels.

    Please be respectful.

  9. I love this! I left a comment over at iHeart Organizing but wasn't sure you'd get it as easily as if I left it here. Plus, I wanted to say that I love your daughter's name. I think I might have mentioned that before on a post with her in it. It's a family name of mine and my middle name. It used to be a last name but then my grandmother had it as her middle name, so I got it too. So did one of my cousins and maybe if I have a second daughter, she'll have it too.

As for the art center, I think it's great. Unfortunately I don't have an IKEA close (hopefully some day soon – the closest is 8 hours away) but I love how you try to incorporate other things or give hints to something else that may work. My dad built my daughter a large, stand alone easel which is great but it takes up a lot of floor space. As we continue to try to have another kid, my mind is all about "where will the stuff go if we have another one?" My daughter's stuff already takes up her room, our TV room, and others. It's crazy! But I love how simple this is while being so effective. I definitely need to make some shelves for a certain someone.
