My Favorite Things + Christmas Wish List

Happy Tuesday, friends! Thank you so much for the love on yesterday’s family post! I loved hearing all the amazing ways you give back, and was thrilled you felt inspired, too! Be sure to read the comments because there are some great new ideas for giving back.

Today is an exciting day…we’re packed up and headed west to shoot a huge project we’ve been secretly working on for months. I honestly couldn’t be any more excited about it, or to share it with you (soon!). Follow my Instagram Story for all the fun and behind-the-scenes peeks of what we’ve got brewing! (Email subscribers got a big hint this weekend…do you subscribe? Don’t worry, I only email you new blog posts and a weekly newsletter. Sign up here.)

But there’s lots of fun on the blog too…today I’m sharing my list of Favorite Things! I wish I could do it Oprah-style and give one of everything away to all of you! But with that pesky college tuition looming, it’s probably better I don’t. 😉

My list is completely random, but these are my genuine must-haves, and things I use, rely on, and wear on repeat.

one // Detox Dry Shampoo  I usually go several days between hair washes, so dry shampoo is my saving grace. I’ve always only used drugstore brands, until I received a sample of this DryBar Dry Shampoo…and my world changed. It’s 100% superior to anything I’ve ever used from the drugstore and worth every penny. It absorbs excess oil without leaving any powdery residue, and smells terrific.

two // Lace Midi Dress  This dress is nothing new to long-time readers…I’ve been wearing it for the last 3-4 years! It’s been my go-to for weddings, cocktail parties, and events of all kinds. It’s classic, flattering, and under $70! (Size up one)

three // Knit Blazer  Every wardrobe needs a classic blazer, and this one is perfection. I love the notched collar and cropped length…so chic thrown over a tee with flats, or dressed up with a camisole. It instantly pulls together any basic outfit, and is super-comfortable! (Size down, I have the white in XS petite.)

four // Leopard Clutch  Another wardrobe necessity, the leopard clutch goes with virtually every evening style from dresses to jeans, and adds a touch of personality and pattern to your outfit. This one has card slots and a hidden chain.

five // Colleen Rothschild Skincare  This is an obvious favorite, right?! The hands-down favorite skincare line for me and Mama Sugarplum…and many of you! I receive daily reader emails and messages thanking me for introducing them to this product line. It really is that good! If you’re looking to try it for yourself, the Discovery Kit is a great starter, including all the best-sellers.

six // NeuLash Serum  This was on my Christmas Wish List last year, and by February I had noticeably longer and thicker lashes. No exaggeration, you’ll have extension-level lashes!! It’s a little pricey, but a single tube lasted me 10 months. But be patient, it takes several weeks to notice the change. I used it nightly for a month, and now it’s only a few times a week to maintain.

seven // Statement Sunglasses  The cutest, high-quality sunglasses…only $10. Enough said.

eight // Denim Jegging  These became instant favorites the moment I pulled them on, and I’m literally excited about a season of wearing them! They look exactly like high-end jeans with perfectly-placed pockets, dark denim wash, and mid-rise, but are actually the most comfortable leggings. Truly. I love the short length for pairing with booties.

nine // Hammered Hoop Earrings  No question I love a statement earring, but my most-worn for the last several years are these gold hoops. Literally my everyday earring…light as a feather and so perfect for pairing with other jewels.

ten // Shower Cap  Why yes, that’s a shower cap on my list of Favorite Things!! But this is no ordinary, hotel-grade shower cap! It’s lined in terrycloth, so it whisks all the moisture away from your hair while bathing or showering. Seriously, my hair looks the same before and after, so it really extends the time between washings. It packs well, too, and I take it on every trip.

eleven // Sheet Sets  This is the second year these sheets have made my Favorites List, and I’m standing firmly behind it! I’ve paid absurd prices for sheet sets in the past, and these are far superior. We have them on every bed in the house, and guests always ask about them the next morning! Just look at all those perfect reviews!

twelve // Packing Cubes  I’m a broken record when it comes to these things, but I honestly could not travel without them! They allow you to fit so much more in your suitcase, while also keeping it tidy and organized. And clothes stay put, so they don’t wrinkle in transit. We have countless sets now, and the whole family uses them… no matter how long the trip.

thirteen // Bliss Undies  Well this is awkward, but I’m passionate about these undies. They stay put (no wedgies!), have no visible lines, and allow clothes to move properly. (You know how sometimes clothes can stick to your undies? These don’t do that.)

fourteen // Coziest Cardigan  You’ll honestly never find a softer or cozier cardigan. I wear this (or the hooded version) literally every night around the house, but it’s also really cute with boots and jeans. It makes a great gift, too…my mom swooned over hers last Christmas.

And as long as we’re talking about things on our Favorites List, how about what’s on my Wish List?! If anyone has a direct line to Santa, feel free to pass this along. K, thanks.

one // Patagonia Fleece Pullover  Yes I already own a few. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love another color!! They are my weekend go-tos!

two // Woven Tassel Tote  Can you even with that tassel tote? I’d like that…plus a return trip to Maroma, please!

three // Le Labo Perfume  Perfume isn’t usually something I care much about…until now. One of my blogger friends on the cruise wore this and I became completely obsessed! So obsessed I made Mr. SP immediately write down the name and promise to get it for me this Christmas.

four // Jade Roller  I don’t know much about these rollers, except that people swear by them! I think I need to try for myself!

five // Ring  I love Gorjana’s delicate pieces (note #9 above), and this ring would be so fun. I love the gold option best.

six // Pillow Case Set  I’ve been paying more attention to my haircare, and using better products and less heat. Age and blonde aren’t doing it any favors! Cotton pillow cases absorb the natural oils from your hair and face, and can even cause breakage. This delicate material actually improves both!

I’d love to hear what’s on your Favorites List…and on your Wish List this holiday, too! Do we share any Faves or Wishes?

I’m in an XS short. At 5’4″, they fall just above my ankle bone. The regular length was about 1.5″ longer

I ordered those sheets based on one of your previous posts. They are awesome! And now I need to order more for our other beds! I’ve spent a lot of money on expensive sheets over the years and am so excited to discover these inexpensive sheets!

Thanks for sharing…I now have the packing cubes in my Amazon cart! 🙂 I’ve had my eye on that leopard clutch for quite some time – It’s on the Christmas Wish list! I’ve also been wanting the CozyChic cardigan, but am having the hardest time choosing a color! What color and size do you have/wear?

Just wanted to share with you and your readers about my recent experience with J Crew Factory. Ordered 5 matching sweaters and tops ( same color) for family photo for my granddaughters and me. They are incredibly slow on the shipping. I ordered two weeks ago and they are still “on the way.” This is fine for me since we will not need these until Dec. 25, but just wanted to give a heads up on this if someone wants to order for gifts.

Just got my jeggings in the mail yesterday! I couldn’t wait to try them on when I got home, so I slipped them on in the bathroom at work. Loved them so much that I wore them the rest of the day! Thanks soooooo much! (I am 5’6 1/2 and 145 pounds, and I ordered the medium regular in black.)

  7. Oh man, once you start down the Le Labo fragrance path, you’re hooked. Santal lotion and Rose 31 spray are gorgeous together. Now stay away from BYREDO cuz that’s a whole new level, in every way (especially $$)

I need more sheets so gonna look into that.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to get my best friend and after reading your post I decided the pillow case and jade roller would be perfect! The jade roller you suggested is sold out so I went with a different one 😃. I think she will love these and I have you to thank!

Quick question about the sheets…is the fitted sheet really loose on the mattress for anyone else or is it just me?

I don’t have that issue with them…but we also have pretty plush mattress pads, so maybe that adds fullness?
