Hi Sugarplum!

Malibu Hikes

February 15, 2023

Happy Wednesday, lovebugs… how was your Valentine’s Day? I hope it was full of love and chocolate! Mr. Sugarplum surprised me with an abundance of Girl Scout cookies, so it was a good day! (Thin Mints all the way over here, what about you?).

Last week I was in California shooting our next GLxHSP Collection (stay tuned for all the launch day scoop tomorrow!), and this time we chose dreamy Malibu as the backdrop. Not only did it have the beachy-coastal vibes we wanted, but between the ocean and the canyon, there’s so much to do!

Our Airbnb had a 3-night minimum, so we took advantage of the extra day, strapped on our sneakers, and headed for the canyon! There are miles and miles of trails around Malibu to choose from, but we went with Solstice Canyon Trail for its moderately challenging, 3-mile loop we were able to trek in a little over an hour… you know, so we’d still have time for lunch near the water afterward! #priorities

And before we get into all the sporty cuteness… sale alert! Today only, all pieces are up to 30% off with code SCORE! All you have to do is log in to your adidas account (fast and free!), then start adding to cart!

Training Leggings in ‘Silver Green’ | Striped Sports Bra in ‘Silver Green/White’ | Sweatshirt | Hat | Ultraboost Sneakers in ‘Cloud White’

Isn’t this set so cute?! I love a matching top and bottom for an elongating look, and these leggings are perfect for just about everything, thanks to the four-way stretch material and LYCRA SPORT technology. The high-rise, stay-put waistband provides coverage and holds you in, so you can squat, jump, and twist without worry.

Fit Tip: If in-between sizes, I’d go up one. I’m in a size XS, but it’s a lot of compression!

This fleecy sweatshirt is super soft and great quality. It’s the perfect relaxed fit without being shapeless.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a Small for a roomier fit.

I have a closet full of sneakers, but when it come to true comfort, I always reach for my adidas. The Ultraboost has been my go-to sneaker of choice for workouts both in the gym and on the streets and trails… nothing compares to the support and comfort! Plus, they’re stylish enough for everyday mom-life.

They provide tons of cushion, great support, and a comfortable, lightweight frame. They are my go-to choice for the treadmill and exercises with lots of side-to-side movement, and I was surprised by how much traction I had on this rocky trail, too! Plus, they come in tons of incredibly fun color combos HERE.

It took a little convincing (they’re definitely an investment!), but now Ultraboosts are all Mama SP wears for her daily walks, too! She loves the added stability they offer.

Fit Tip: I wear my true size in this style.

Let’s talk about my hat for a second… did you know adidas has a collaboration with Farm Rio?! One of my favorite brands for bold prints and colors, it’s now available with some of the best sporty styles! Find the full Farm Rio x adidas Collection HERE.

It was the perfect, quintessential Malibu day… and I loved that I felt comfortable on the trails and stylish around town in this cute adidas set and sneakers!

And as if I needed more of a reason to love adidas, did you know they are passionate about sustainability and drastically cutting their carbon footprint? In fact, by the end of 2024, they are on track to use only recycled polyester, with ambitions to be 90% sustainable by 2025.
Be sure to check out their current sale HERE, with items up to 65% off!

So we can look good and do good! I can definitely get behind that mission! Are you an adidas girl, too?

Adidas and Girl Scout cookies for me! One cancels out the other, right?
I did not know there were waterfalls, creeks and babbling brooks back there!
And what was that abandoned (?) structure you came upon? Enquiring minds want to know!
    Nice hike, thanks! : )
