Happy, happy Monday friends! How about three cheers for it being a short week!! Which is a good thing, because I’m starting this one out already pooped! The Art Party was a big success and so much fun. I’m sorting through the mountain of pictures and hope to share it all tomorrow. Until then, here’s a teaser shot of the cute birthday girl…officially six now!
But honestly, the real reason I can hardly move is because of the birthday party we attended yesterday, at an old-school skating rink! Mr. Sugarplum gives me crap about always presenting such a careful image of myself on this blog, so he dared me to show you these (horrible phone pics). Here we are getting our couples-skate on. Can’t you just hear Olivia Newton John?!
We used to rollerblade a lot, but it’s been decades since I was on 4-wheels. It was the first time for Babygirl, so she was like a baby giraffe learning to stand for the first time.
Right about the time I’m pretty sure my back went out, she got the hang of it. Limbo time!
I have a fairly strong competitive streak, and I love embarrassing my 10-year-old son, so I kept at it. Big tree fall hard!
The stick got the best of me, but not my girl!
I’m sore in some funky places today, and I’m a little worried about what the 30-year-old rental skates could have given me, but we’re already planning our next visit. I think I’ll bring my own Lysol. So how was your weekend?
Seriously that cake looked fantastic! You will have to give me details about how it tasted so I can ooohhh & aaahhh about it! So sad I missed the party but can't wait to see pics. You look cute skating:)
Oh my, I think I need to visit a skating rink soon, that looks like so much fun. You still look hot btw. Maybe you could share a post work-out photo or one fresh out of bed?
That cake is amaaaaazing!!! Love! And so fun that you were roller skating…get it girl!
LOL – so much fun! cant wait to see baby girl's birthday party!
Looks like a fun weekend! The photos of you skating are priceless! Too cute.

The cake turned out great! Did you use any tricks to keep the layers so pretty?
It's been ages since I roller-skated, but that was super popular when I was growing up, I just hope it doesn't come back too soon, Im not ready for it!

Looks like a blast! Don't worry about your image, we all love you and seeing you have a great time with your family is wonderful.
I see you found more frosting for that pretty rainbow cake. Happy Birthday to your little one! I commend you for skating. I don't partake in activities that involve strapping equipment to my feet that will propel me. It's just never a good idea.
You. Crack. Me. Up.
Happy Birthday, Sloan!!!
That is too funny! I felt that way this winter about skiing.. It had been too long!
YAY! You made the Rainbow cake! Can't wait to hear all about it and the rest of the party.
I am LOVING the roller skating pictures! Looks like you guys had a blast.
That is so fun!! I was in Portland last summer and we visited an old school amusement park where you could visit their old school roller skating rink with admission. My baby giraffe and I spent ages and had a supreme blast!!
HA @ "sore in some funky places". Care to elaborate?
Mr. FC kids me about only posting flattering pics of myself too! But how do YOU still manage to look cute limbo-ing?! There are just certain things it's impossible to look cute doing (scooting out of a booth, walking down a steep hill, eating a crunchy taco, etc.) & you've conquered this one.
