Y’all!! You blew me away with your excitement yesterday!!! I am thrilled that you’re pumped for our next Gibsonlook x Hi Sugarplum project, and can not wait for you to see The Celebrate Summer Collection this Thursday! (Catch up with the FAQ here.)
Today I’m sharing all the scoop on sizing, plus tips for figuring out your best size. The Collection is well-stocked, but ordering just your determined size, rather than multiple sizes, ensures everyone has the chance to shop it! Plus, it cuts down on the waste of extra shipping and returns!
To help you determine the best size for you, we put together a simple size chart with all the measurements you need to get your perfect size the first time!
Don’t have a flexible tape measure? No problem! Just use a long strip of ribbon and a marker, then measure the ribbon with a traditional tape measure!
Once you have your basic measurements, you’ll be able to determine your best size for every piece in The Celebrate Summer Collection! The pieces are labeled with letter sizes (XXS-XXL), but the numerical equivalent is listed if that’s a better guide for you.
We also added length measurements for the jumpsuit, maxi skirt, and maxi dress, so you can decide if petite is best! I wear mine a cropped length, so prefer petite in those pieces.
How about a peek at a few of those pieces!?
Are you getting excited!!?? Do you already have some pieces on your list? I hope this sizing post is helpful, and I know your fellow Sugarplum Shoppers will appreciate if we can cut back on ordering multiple sizes of the same piece so there’s more for everyone!

What an incredibly helpful post, Cassie… Thanks for helping us make the best *first* choice possible!!
I’m thrilled it was helpful, Alison!! xo. C
Love the peek of that maxi!!!!
The best kind of house dress! 😉 xo. C
I’m hoping the design team remembered “bra friendly” when creating looks. Not all of us want to wear stick on bras. And perhaps, sleeves? For women with less than buff upper arms. It’s part of the aging process.
Looking forward to launch day.
Hi Patricia! We definitely have some bra-friendly styles…including several shown in this post! xo. C
I am so excited to see all the pieces! I really like the matching seperates (Do I have that right, the pale and bright peachy/pink striped outfit are a seperate top and skirt? Love!) that can be used together and seperately! Brilliant! What you have shown so far look so stylish, comfy, and fun!
Thank you also for the smart sizing guide!
Yes!!! Lots of separates to mix and match however you want! There is a striped top and skirt! <3 xo, C
This is so exciting! Can’t wait 😍
Can you please share a link to the sandals you’re wearing in the first photo – in front of the rack in the color block dress? Thanks!
Hi Kristin! All accessories, shoes included, will be linked in tomorrow’s “Accessories” post!! xo, C
I would LOVE to only need to order one size, but unfortunately different parts of my body are apparently different sizes… Usually my waist is one size, my chest is a size larger #gifted and my hips are another size larger yet! The best is when my waist is a size 2, boobs a size 6, and then hips ring up as a size 10…. Like idk what to order based on that nonsense lol. Based on the above I should be a fairly between 6-8/M… But most of the pieces I own from previous Gibson collections are size S (but also 1 or 2 M or PM), so this post just confused me a little more unless Gibson updated their overall sizing recently?
What I DO find immensely helpful are seeing the photos of all the different bloggers wearing the pieces, since they have a wide range of body types….. Maybe having a few different body types shoot the collection for launch day, so that us shoppers can get a better sense of what the collection looks like on a body type that best matches ours, without having to potentially miss out on a piece because we had to wait for other bloggers to post about it on their body type. Like maybe if you had a petite model, a curvy (like size 4-8 hourglass) model, a “plus size” model, a slender model, and a tall model showing off each of the pieces, and posted what size they are each wearing, I’d likely be more confident in ordering only one size up front instead of 2-3 and returning what doesn’t fit.
But maybe that’s just me?
Hi Michelle! Normally we’d love to shoot with different women (like I did for Holiday!), but with Covid, we had to maintain distance for the shoot. We did send the Collection to a range of women, and they’re all sharing on social media under the hashtag #gibsonlookxhisugarplum
That’s a great way to see it on a variety of body types!
Thank you for encouraging everyone to buy their items in one size 🙂 More to go around that way 🙂 Much appreciated! Good Luck with your launch and thank you for the 25% off code!!!
Thank you!!
So per these measurements, I would be a medium, but in every past Gibson x Hi Sugarplum collection, I’ve had to order XS and sometimes even those were big. Has the sizing on this collection completely changed?
This Collection is sized by standard and universal ‘Misses’ sizing! So your size in most every retailer would be your size now! I would say it runs a little big, so I sized down one! The size chart is exact, so it’s a great source. Just be sure your measurements are accurate…even a 1/4″ off will alter your size!
Whitney,
I have the same thoughts! In previous collections I ordered medium tops and they are big (wearable but small would have fit better), but this size chart indicates I’d need large.
Hmmm, that’s odd. I’d err on the side of sizing down. Go by the numerical sizes in the chart, and if in-between, go down. I’ll have my sizes and how I sized in tomorrow’s post!
AWESOME!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING…
What if you are measured and are between sizes? Order up or down a size?
Hi Beth! I would size down if in between sizes! I have my specific fit tips on today’s Launch post as well, if that helps you! xo, C
Can you tell me if the sizing is different for this collection than previous collections? I purchased a top in the last collection (off the shoulder black with white print top) in a size medium and it’s nearly too big, but according to the size chart provided in this post it says I would need a size large. Thanks!
If the medium was too big before, then I’d def go with a small this time!
Thanks!
