Fall Mantel

Happy Friday!! I had so much fun at last night’s Blogger Post party! It was great to meet other gals that share the same interests (blogging, home design, fashion), and live nearby. I hope true friendships come of it. I’ll be posting pictures from the amazing event Beth and Kelly hosted soon.

Yesterday I shared with you the making of my $2 Ballard Burlap Vase:

Well, I got a little carried away with the burlap and Dollar Store vases, and ended up creating an entire Fall Mantel out of them:

I’m really happy with the warm simplicity of it.

One side contains two Burlap Vases; one with a tall, glass candle, and the other some faux-stems. I glued a single strip of burlap ribbon around the base of a smaller votive and placed a tea light in it.

The other side has a trio of Dollar Store glass goodies.

The one on the left has burlap ribbon glued around a glass candle (using the same technique as making the Burlap Vases) and inserted in a tall vase. The smaller one in the middle is jute ribbon (leftover from this project) glued around a short glass candle and inserted in a similar vase. The medium one on the right is a glass vase filled with a bag of Fall nuggets.

The mirrors I found for $15 each at Home Goods. They are intended for Babygirl’s new room, but I thought I’d use them here until then. I’ve never had a mirror over this mantel, but I love it so much I think I’ll be looking for a permanent one now!

I’m making a few more Fall updates around the house and will share them with you soon. What about you…besides Christmas decorations, do you switch-up the decor in your home with the changing of the seasons?

Have a great Fall weekend, loves! And don’t forget about the $55 CSN Giveaway!

  1. You did a fabulous job with the vase, Cassie! I saw the burlap covered vase in Ballards catalog and immediately thought that it could be made {did you see the burlap ribbon?} for less. Your vases turned out just great! I scrolled down to the tutorial…you make it look so easy! Thanks!

I love your mantel. I put a vintage mirror over mine a few months ago and I can't imagine not having it there either!

    Have a great weekend!

    Jane

  2. I love it!! I have to say, the first thing that I really liked was the double mirrors – I thought… "what a great idea"! You may need to find something else for BabyGirl's room! And I really like the doubled up vases with the burlap on the inside. I suppose I need to take down my Halloween stuff now, huh? LOL

  8. Just an FYI for your readers: I was in Target yesterday and they have a glass fluted vase VERY similar in size to Ballards. Its really wide and would look almost identical! It was only $12.99
