Cheers to Friday, friends, and the weekend ahead! We’re spending the day at sea, then tomorrow it’s Victoria, then home!! I can hardly believe the whirlwind of travel and new experiences we’ve had in the last few weeks, and can’t wait to share more of it with you!
Today I’m excited to bring you another Dressing Room Diaries, featuring some fun new finds for Fall. This one is pretty short and sweet, with mostly things I stumbled on while prepping for our recent trips.
You know the drill with Dressing Room Diaries…I hunt down some of the cutest items from my favorite retailers, and review them for you. As usual, the shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad, and I’m in desperate need of a hairbrush. But it’s real life, real girl, real clothes…and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model. So let’s get started!
Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 120 pounds-ish (depending on the week’s taco count), with a slight pear shape. My usual size is XS/0.
Let’s start with a Fall cozy…this perfect pullover tunic. I loved it so much I immediately grabbed it in two colors! My friends at Gibson really hit a homerun with this one…the soft fleecy material they do so well, plus a relaxed cowlneck and fun split back. It’s long enough to be worn with leggings for me, and soft enough to double as pajamas! Pretend I’m wearing booties…perfect outfit for Fall, right?!
Fit Tip: It’s an oversized fit, I’m wearing an XS.

I’m always a sucker for mid-length cardigans, especially when they’re nubby soft and on sale! This was a reader fave last year, and I’m thrilled to see it back in new colors. I especially love the camel and blush.
Fit Tip: It’s true to size, I’m wearing an XS
Long Cardigan | Striped Tee | Jeans | Sneakers
Moving on to some preppier styles…this skirt had me at houndstooth and ruffle trim! It’s a pull-on style with an elastic waist in the back, and fully-lined. So cute with tights or knee-high boots. I paired it with the poodle sweater for a fun combo, but it’s extra-chic with any number of solid sweaters, too.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a 0 skirt and XS sweater.
Who doesn’t love a jazzed-up sweatshirt?! This thick cotton crewneck has a built-in ruffle trim at both the neck and cuff…and even a brass zipper at the back!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small for a more relaxed fit.

Oh yeah…it’s just about plaid season! And no one does it better than J.Crew! This button-up is a soft flannel with relaxed fit, but flattering darts at the bust and shoulders to keep it feminine. Their quilted vests are my faves too, for adding a layer without the bulk of a true puffer vest.
Fit Tip: Both are true, I’m wearing XS

Something about black shirts reminds me of Jennifer Aniston, and I’m totally okay with that! The flowy material of this one gives it a sexy drape, as opposed to a structured cotton. It’s thin enough to layer under jackets and blazers without bunching, or undo an extra button for a little subtle sex appeal. I’d wear it with heels for a night out!
Fit Tip: Runs small, so size up. I’m wearing a small.

Speaking of a night out…how fun are the colors in this flirty cami top!? I love it with jeans and heels for a date night, or layered under a blazer for work.
Fit Tip: True to size, this is an XS

Moving on to dresses…with four formal nights and countless evening events over the course of two cruises, I was on the hunt for a few new dresses! This floral number is thick, and fully-lined with lovely pleated details on the skirt, and a flattering fit-and-flare shape. I’d transition it to Fall with closed-toe shoes and a jean jacket or fitted cardigan.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a reg 0

I can already hear my mom swooning over this one…these collars get her every time! I loved the navy and pink colorblock, and the sweet lace sleeves. It comes with an optional bow for the neck, but I wasn’t a fan.
Fit Tip: It was a little snug, so if in-between sizes, go up one. I’m wearing a 2.
If you read my British Isles Travel Diary, then you know this peplum jumpsuit came with me! Besides, it was the overwhelming favorite when I posted it to my Instagram! It’s a thick crepe with ruffle detail in all the right places for an incredibly flattering fit. The legs are wide, but still show your shape. And hello, did I mention it has pockets?!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a reg 0 (it needed hemming), but would size up if you’re in-between.
I loved this ivory lace sheath…so chic and seasonless, and perfect for so many occasions. But sadly I found it a little itchy, so even though it was a reader-favorite, I couldn’t keep it.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a reg 2, which is true for this brand.
I love the halter neck and flirty tiers of this chiffon dress in a gorgeous blue floral. The waist and neck are elastic for a comfortable fit, and the skirt falls just below the knee.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a 2
Another reader fave, and one that came with me to Scotland, this black and navy lace tiered dress is equally chic and sassy. I love the combo of unexpected colors, and the flirty tiered skirt. It’s so timeless and fits like a glove.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a regular 2.

I never met a ruffle I didn’t love, including this crisp cotton poplin wrap-style dress. It actually buttons up the front, but the asymmetry and tie-waist give it a flattering wrap effect. It’s extra thick and the ruffle is sturdy so it doesn’t go limp. It comes in a gorgeous navy, too.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a reg 0

And finally, this dress isn’t new, but I couldn’t talk dresses without including this one…which, of course, came with me on both trips. It’s my go-to for all things cocktail and fancy, and I’ve worn it countless times over the years. It’s thick and lined to the mid-thigh, with adjustable straps. It comes in tons of colors now, but I’m partial to the classic black.
Fit Tip: It runs small, so go up one.
Ooops, one more thing! Wanted to let you know this popular convertible cardigan is finally back in stock, and on sale!! It’s fleecy soft and can be worn several different ways…and is a fave for me and Mama SP!
Fit Tip: We’re each wearing reg XS, but would like the petite for a shorter length.

Oh, that ruffled trim grey sweatshirt is pure genius. So dang cute. The Ivory lace sheath is perfection on you. Sorry it itches!
Victoria is so very pretty. There’s a butterfly garden there, it you have the time to see it!
Soak it all in!
Just bought the black blouse. Love your style and advice! Reading your blog saves me so much time!
Thank you so much, Andrea!! Im thrilled to hear that!
The Lace Sheath Dress links to a blue color… do you know if the ivory is an option? I love it!!
The ivory must be sold out!! 🙁
Such cute things!
I have the coral ruffled wrap dress and it’s amazing! Fits well, and the construction is fantastic–everything stays put (which is not always the case with a wrap style). I’m tempted to get it in navy b/c it’s so classic.

That sweatshirt is J.Crew Factory, they have separate sites and codes.
I really want the Eliza J black and navy lace dress. I wear the same size as you. I’m 5’ 4” (110 lbs.) I can only find a size 4. Should I give it a try? Can’t find a 2.
I think the 4 would be too big…I already had a little wiggle room in the 2. But it can’t hurt to try if there’s free shipping and returns though!
