Hi friends…how was your weekend? I had a ball at the Haven Conference…it’s always fun to hang out with people who get as ga-ga over glue guns and spray paint as I do. So many of these girls have become close, real-life friends, so it didn’t really feel like a ‘blogger conference.’ I haven’t looked through my pics, but hopefully I have enough (suitable) ones to do a re-cap post. I’ll get back to you on that.
Today I’m sharing the super simple DIY for our new Patio Barcart. I mean, crazy simple.
{What You Need}
Basic wire storage shelves (I used these for $20)
Spraypaint
Casters (optional)
{What You Do}
Assemble the shelves. Paint them. Attach the casters to the bottom. Done!
So simple and so fun, right?! And the storage options are endless for using it outside. It’s lightweight and compact, too, so it moves around easily, and fits in small nooks.

This is so cute! I think it would work well in a bathroom or kitchen too.

I think I need to DIY a bar cart for the ranch house!!! š Yours is soooooooooooooo cute!!!
This is genius. I'll definitely be adding this to our outdoor space!
Love this Cassie, as it is something attainable for most!! And, love that you sprayed it gold!!
I did something just like that too that I now use as a coffee station š
Love the styling and of course the gold š great job Cassie! xo Kristin
I am so in love with this idea! Thanks for sharing! This is so FAB! š
Cassie, this is genius! Never in a million years would I have thought to turn those storage shelves into something used for more than storage! It was so great to meet you this weekend by the way! š
You make everything look pretty Cassie! I am a fan of gold spray paint and I think I need that cart in our pool area. Great idea with the towels! Haven looked like so much fun! I have got to get with it and quit putting off my blog and attend Haven next year!
I love this!! I have been wanting a bar cart foreverā¦unfortunately, they are all sold out or out of my price range. This is such a cute alternative!!

Love this Cassie… It'd be great by my pool!
This is perfect, because I have been searching for something like this that is not too expensive. I am not a super DIYer, but I think even I can handle this!
Clever! I never would have thought of using wire shelves!
Where did you get the casters and what size are they?
Hi Kelly — the casters are from Home Depot…and they are the small ones that have a post on them…so it slides up in the hole of the cart leg. Hope this helps!
Can you pls be more specific? Help! Thx
There isn't a link to them online…but someone in the store will be able to lead you in the right direction! Just show them the storage rack, and they'll find the perfect casters for it!
Hi! I have the exact same cart, and am having zero success with casters. The posts are too big for the holes with the smallest I can find at any store. (The wheels get smaller but not the posts!) I'm assuming you somehow found smaller- then how did you attach them? Glue? Thanks for your help!
Hi Carlie! My wheels just fit right in?!?! I do have one that pops out a lot, so I used glue to keep it in place. I don't wheel the cart around much, so that helps too. xo
I love this cart makeover! Having purchased all the supplies I am wondering if I need to rough up the shiny metal finish before painting?
thanks Robyn! I think just a light dusting of spray primer would be enough!
