{Best of 2015} Five Ways

Is there anything better than Winter Break?! No school or schedules, lots of food and family, and the opportunity to just snuggle down. But while I’m not thrilled to see the break come to an end tomorrow, I am excited for all that lies ahead. My calendar is already filling up with fun ideas and collaborations, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Last week I recapped the best of my 2015 Style Series, but left off one of the biggest…{Five Ways}. Those posts, where I share multiple ways to wear and style particular items, are one of my favorites to create, but also the most time-consuming, so I felt they deserved a post of their own.
I use the term {Five Ways} loosely, as some of them are actually {Three Ways}…you know, because of that whole time-consuming part. These were the most popular of 2015…

A giant *thank you* to Mr. SP for patiently shooting most of these looks! He’s usually left waiting while I race back inside to change clothes…five times! Do you have any {Five Ways} requests for this year? I’ve been brainstorming new ones…so far I’m thinking leopard, winter whites, layering and puffer vests. Any others you’d like to see? Are you back to back to your regular schedule today, or do you start tomorrow like us? Either way, I hope it’s a smooth transition!

  1. How about a post on active wear to the gym and then on errands? I just never know what to wear without feeling like my business is on display. I love your blog and have been a stalker reader (in the good way) for years.

    • I love stalkers!! 😉 If I actually went to a gym, I'd probably wear the standard workout pants and top….maybe add a long tunic or cardigan for running around after?? 🙂 xo

  3. We are back to work and school today! I really don't want to let go of Christmas break but looking forward to an exciting 2016! Loved looking back at your top posts today! A bright spot in my morning! I would love to see a winter whites post-I never know quite how to pull that one off.

  4. Back to school/work today for most of us and college girl heads back tomorrow for her last semester of school! Yikes!!
Leopard sounds interesting. I haven't been brave enough to wear more than a belt so I'd love to see what you do with it. I love all of your style posts so no matter what you do, I'll learn something new!

These post are always fun. I try not to buy anything that I can't picture wearing at least 2 or 3 ways. Leopard sounds fun… Maybe some gingham and here is a stretch but maybe skirts through the winter (Texas winter of course!).

    • Gingham….my love language!!! And love the idea of skirts!

I love you and these posts. I'll have to come back later and read them all.

I hear you about break. Last year I was off the whole time my kids were as we had moved from WI to TN and I hadn't started my new job yet. However this year I was only off Christmas Day and New Years Day. I feel like my kids got shafted because we didn't get to do anything fun, aside from spending the weekend of Christmas in So IN with family. My kids don't go back to school til Thursday, so they have a few more days of no schedule! I am already planning for next year. I plan to change jobs in this calendar year to allow me more flexibility ( I am a home hospice nurse). The kids are only young once and soon enough they won't want to spend time with me!

My favorites of your 5 Ways posts were the one on the maxi dress and the one on easy fall outfits. I really love these posts because they help me to expand my vision for my wardrobe!

Love the idea of puffer vests as I've recently acquired two! Transitioning to spring would be helpful. And I like the idea of ways to look cute in workout wear. Thanks for all the outfit inspiration!

    • I love a good puffer, too!! Such a great, easy piece to throw on for an extra layer! I did a transition to Spring last year, but I'll add another once the weather warms up! xo

Another vote for leopard and for layering. I love leopard but am not sure when too much is too much. While I tend to look dumpy in puffer vests, I find them the world's most comfortable wardrobe piece, so would appreciate another post on how to style them.

Love your blog and put a number of your fashion and décor ideas to good use. Thank you for your ongoing inspiration, positive spirit, and sense of humor. Best of everything to you in 2016!

  11. Our break was wonderful…my first ever that I got to be home with my family (hubs is a teacher). I'm ready for reality again, too, though. Just wanted to say THANKS, because I do know that posts like your "5 ways" are a lot of work, and I enjoy each one of yours I read! Lots of people don't realize how much work goes into blogging! It's very fulfilling work, though, and it's always fun to connect with readers, for me. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your blog, and appreciate the hard work you put into it! 🙂
