Hello friends! I have finally climbed out from under the piles of laundry, my inbox is manageable and I think I’m back on Central Standard Time. Time for the first Trip Report….we’ll start in Paris!!
We arrived early morning, and after a good power nap at our hotel, we set out to wander the streets. Everything was in bloom, and it was sunny and warm!
So many of the sights are familiar, but it’s still striking to see them in person.
And even though we see images of the Eiffel Tower everywhere, it’s impossible to not be in awe when standing beneath it. We picnicked on the lawn nearby (with tons of Parisians, as they all had a long holiday weekend), then immediately passed out for a power nap in the sun! Nothing says romance like drooling on your sleeve.
Mr. Sugarplum loves museums, so I played nice and went along. (I have been known to nap on a museum lawn while he checks out the art!) The lines at the Louvre were out of control thank goodness, so we checked out the much smaller Pompidou and their modern collection.
Oops, that’s me, pretending to rest for a second…but clearly moments away from my face hitting the floor. Jet lag + museums???
I was momentarily interested in the Picassos and Pollacks, but then gave up trying to be discreet.
Moving on…you can’t talk about Paris without talking about the food!
We hardly passed a creperie without stopping, and it seemed we needed a cafe and treat every other hour. You know, to keep our energy up. Thank goodness I brought jeggings, because my regular jeans no longer buttoned after Day 4!
The Seine is such a magical part of the city, so we took an evening boat ride on a Bateaux Mouches.
It’s amazing to see the city full of light, and from the perspective of the water.
We were captivated, once again, by this whirlwind city! There really is no place like it.
We squeezed a lot in to our 48 hours in Paris. It was sad to say, ‘Au revoir’ to the big city, but it was nice to get out of the hustle and bustle for the quaint town of Brugges. That report is up next! Hopefully.
* I’m completely aware that this post is totally self-indulgent and narcissistic. But where I take pictures of sights, Mr. Sugarplum takes pictures of me. And he’s usually carrying the camera.

Absolutely beautiful. Looks like you had the trip of a lifetime! Someday…. my husband and I will take a nice trip to Europe… someday for sure! Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos! 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing! My husband and I have been tentatively planning a trip for next year and this really sparked my interest!
Can I ask you, do you speak French? Or did you find most people there were obliged to cater to English?
Girl please – be indulgent! I love the outfits in the pics….oh and the art was nice too 🙂
Such beautiful pictures Cassie! This post made me nostalgic for the trip my hubby nad I took there almost 10 years ago when we were dating. It's such a magical place (& luckily, unlike me, you were able to escape without taking the tour of the sewer museum….yes, the sewer museum. ICK). Welcome home (ps, you looked super chic and adorable in Paris…unlike me ten years ago in my running shoes paired with jeans..ICK, ha ha!).
Oh Cass, it all looks so beautiful! Both the city and you- you really are adorbs. If it were possible, I love you even more now that I know you own jeggings. You better slap a bunch of these in frames- so so pretty and romantic!!
Long live narcissism!! You are glowing and look absolutely beautiful! We rarely get to see you so let the pictures keep coming. The trip looks awesome so far. I can't wait to see the rest of your posts. I'm living vicariously through you. Welcome back!!

Love love love Paris in the springtime. Hope you filled up on macarons and nutella filled crepes!
You look stunning! Even in your sleeping pics 🙂 I would have been doing the same – including the not fitting in my jeans part! The food is always the best part of traveling!
What fun pictures! So glad you had such an amazing time. I love that printed skirt you're wearing (:
Ayy, Paris. My favorite place. I loved it so much, that my hubby proposed there. Your pictures are making me want to go.

Looks like an AMAZING time! Love your cute colorful skirt and I am just dying to go to Paris…the food looks so so delicious! Thanks for sharing!
I am dying to go back! So fun seeing your trip photos. I went in May and think it's the best time to go. Everthing is so gorgeous this time of year!
First, you look like a model in almost every picture (even the sleeping one) — but that last picture . . . are you serious? I am pretty sure that needs to be in a magazine.
Second, I need that colorful skirt you are wearing.
Lastly, it looks like such an amazing trip. So much fun!
Oh my…love it! I'm hoping to go to Paris this fall and planning is in the works. Thanks so much for giving me a "sneak peak" at my trip. 🙂
Hi, I know this post is old but where did you stay in Paris? I’m going with my daughter in August and having a hard time deciding which area to stay in. Any tsuggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I don’t have the info in my post!! We stayed near Notre Dame…maybe in the Latin Quarter?? It’s hard to go wrong in Paris!
