8 Looks for New Years Eve

How was your day after Christmas? It was cold and rainy here, and we literally didn’t leave the couch the entire day! We watched two movies…The Book of Henry (loved) and Wonder Woman (meh), played a slew of board games, and ordered take-out tacos. So pretty much the most perfect day.

I’m thrilled you liked yesterday’s Dressing Room Diaries post (make sure you check it out, I think every single item is on sale!), and am actually hoping to sweet-talk Mama Sugarplum in to meeting me at the mall this week. So fingers-crossed she’s in the next installment!

Today I’ve got some fun looks to inspire your New Years Eve. And it’s safe to say I’m a fan of black lace dresses!

Starting with this lace midi, which is one of my Top 10 favorite purchases this year. I’ve worn it to parties, weddings, a dinner, and a style conference. It makes me feel like a million bucks, and always brings the compliments!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but if you’re busty I’d size up.

When I need to dress up a bit, but really want to wear jeans, I always pair them with a moto jacket and heels…and it’s instantly more chic. These jeans have a way of making my legs infinitely longer, too!

Fit Tip: Size down in the jeans, and steer clear of the petite sizing unless you’re 5’2″ or under.

When you want to dress up, but still feel covered up…jumpsuits are a fun option!

Faux-Wrap Jersey Jumpsuit | Tassel Earrings | Embellished Ankle Strap Sandal | Bracelet

This dress is a real showstopper, and has a way of holding in all the right places. Plus, the longer length keeps you from feeling too exposed.

The easiest way to jazz up even the most basic of little black dresses is with sassy shoes and jewels.

Another simple way to make a look more festive is to just add leopard!

Another easy-to-wear combo is to pair your black jeans with black boots for a slimming and streamlined look.

Similar Moto Jacket (love this one for under $50!) | Camisole | Best Black Jeans | OTK Boots(only $55!) | Pendant Necklace | Clutch | Earrings | Similar Sunglasses | Lipstick in ‘Punch’

But let’s be honest…my New Year’s Eve outfit is likely to look more like this! We almost-always stay in, play games and make chocolate fondue!

Circle Cardigan | Flannel Plaid Pants | Fur-Lined Moccasin

What are your plans for New Years Eve this year? Will you be dolled-up in a little black dress, cozied up in pajamas, or somewhere in between? See you back here

{Love These Dresses!}

I was thinking the same thing! So many hot looks-good for all year ’round. Weddings, parties, Vegas (baby!), night on the town. Thanks, Cassie!
Ps-I’ll be right over to “borrow” something.

I’ll be somewhere in between with guests for dinner and champagne and finish with desserts by the fireside. Slinky black pants and top with Japanese short kimono jacket with embroidery and probably my leopard shoes and black tassel earrings.
So a little glam and a lot of comfort …

I love all of your outfits. One word of caution, however – I ordered those awesome Steve Madden OTK boots based on your photo, but on my 5’5” frame they were barely over my knees. And definitely not mid-thigh, as they are on you. Bummer! Back they go.
