Screened Porch | The Reveal

So, I hesitated to call this The Reveal #dundunduuuuuun simply because I’m not completely done with the space. But when are we ever reeeeally done with a space, right? Plus, ‘The Reveal for Now’ or ‘The Kinda Reveal’ wouldn’t exactly motivate you check it out!

But there’s no question the Screened Porch (is it screen porch or screened porch??) has come a long way, and is a place we can use and enjoy. Well, until August…then everybody in Texas heads indoors! 😉

Just as a reminder…here’s the blank space we started with (see more of it, plus the design plans here)…

Other than replacing the windows across the back (see that here), all we’ve done to the porch is decorate with string lights, and outdoor furniture and accessories. I plan to paint the ceiling too, but that will have to wait for cooler days!

The window on the right was broken when we bought the house…and since it’s within 18-inches of the door, we had to replace it with tempered glass. Hello, but have you priced tempered glass windows?!?! #$$$ 

We decided if we had to pay that much for a single window, we’d rather have a solid glass pane…which meant replacing all four on the wall (the non-tempered are about a third the price). It’s shocking what a difference it made though, especially since they look out to the backyard and pool. 

Of course now it’s snowballed, and I want to replace all the windows across the back of the house with solid glass panes. #babysteps

The funny thing is, Mr. SP originally wanted to rip out the screened porch to create more space in the backyard, but it was totally a selling point for me when we found the house. Now it’s one of our favorite spots…especially during big thunderstorms! And where you’ll find me most Saturday mornings with my coffee and laptop.

Now, what color should I paint that ceiling???
