Y’all!!!! Your Tuesday is about to get happy! Our Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Resort 2020 Collection is LIVE and exclusively online at Nordstrom (find the entire collection HERE)! I’m humbled beyond belief by this opportunity, and positively bursting with excitement to share this labor of love with you!
I know you’re all anxious to see the pieces, so I’ll get right to it! The Collection consists of 11 different styles, each with several colors and patterns, for a total of 32 versatile pieces. And as always, we were dedicated to color consistency throughout the Collection, making it effortless to mix-and-match countless combinations for all your warm weather getaways (or Spring around the corner)! Just add a swimsuit and sandals, and you’re set.

This Resort 2020 Collection was inspired by the colorful coast of the Italian Riviera, so we named it for favorite Italian spots. Darling friends, I give you the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Resort 2020 Collection!!
Sizing Sidenote: We listened carefully to your feedback from our previous Collections, and am excited to share more bra-friendly pieces, as well as, more options in Plus sizing! I’m also wearing a petite in most skirts and dresses, so our taller girls can get in on the action. On average petite skirts and dresses are 1.5″ – 2″ shorter than regular lengths. Pay close attention to my Fit Tip for each item!
I’m 5’4″ 120 pounds, and wear a 0/XS and 26 jeans. However, I have a long torso, so I usually choose Petites for skirts and dresses for a shorter length. Mama Sugarplum is 5’2″ with an hourglass shape, and wears 2-petite/Small.

Amalfi Print Maxi Dress
It wouldn’t be a GxHSP Resort Collection without a maxi dress, and the Amalfi Print Maxi Dress is a stunner! Made of the most-amazing rayon challis fabric, it’s super smooth and cool to the touch, with amazing fluid drape. And on top of that, it’s completely breathable, making it perfect for hot, sunny days (or nights!). I love it skimming the ground with flat sandals, or grazing the ankle with wedges. Both lengths are gorgeous and flattering.
We gave it a low v-neck, but kept it bra-friendly, and of course added pockets. It easily dresses up or down, and the flowy skirt makes you feel like a goddess! These prints are my favorites we’ve created to date!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS-Petite for closer fit and shorter length, but would recommend regular size if you’re over 5’4″. Mama SP in an XS-Petite.

Ravello Linen Fit-and-Flare Dress
The cutest dress in the most flattering fit-and-flare shape (you know it’s my go-to silhouette!)…the Ravello Linen Dress will be your new favorite this Spring and Summer for parties, showers and even Easter. Made of a soft, but sturdy linen blend, it’s trimmed in a chic contrasting embroidery with the cutest back. And of course pockets!
The skirt is fully-lined and the fabric thick for no show-through or sheerness, and the fabric blend doesn’t easily wrinkle.

Every vacation wardrobe needs an easy, comfy dress, and the Como Knit Dress delivers! Made of our incredible super-soft knit, it’s thick and stretchy and the kind of dress you’ll want to throw on everyday. We took our super-popular Cavallo Ruffle Neck Dress from the Summer of Color Collection, and turned it into the chicest romper…and I’m obsessed!! The Capri Ruffle Neck Romper has the same gorgeous neckline and stylish bow back as the Cavallo, but now in the comfiest day-to-night romper. The fabric is the same insanely soft and breathable rayon challis we used for the Amalfi Print Maxi Dress, and a wide, smocked waist means it’s extra-comfortable around your middle.

I hate to brag, but I’m just going to say it….we made the perfect tee!! The Mondello Pocket Tee is literally the white tee of my dreams, plus it comes in gorgeous colors and a fun stripe! Made of a soft, slub cotton that washes beautifully, it’s not sheer, has a touch of stretch, and the perfect scoop neck to show just enough skin. The Bosa Scoopneck Bodysuit is not only made of the most incredibly soft and stretchy jersey knit, but it’s completely bra-friendly, and wedgie-free! That’s right, we made sure the fit across the bottom was comfortable and stayed put!

I could not be more excited to introduce our Positano Denim Skirt! I love denim skirts for spring and summer, and this one fits like a dream, and looks amazing with everything from tees and tanks to bodysuits and ruffle tops!
We gave it a fitted waist so there’s not gaping in the back, and added pockets for a flattering fit from the front or back! Side slits mean easy walking, but without worrying about showing too much (back slits can be a too revealing), and a touch of stretch keeps it comfortable.
Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS-Petite, but the XS fits great, too, with just a bit more length. Mama SP in a small petite.
Undergarment: Not sheer at all, traditional undies are great, but I’d choose nude for the white skirt. These are pretty much the only ones I wear.

Pair it with sandals or sneakers for a casual day style, or jazz it up with wedges for night. Add a jean jacket, and you’ve got the perfect travel style! I dare you not to twirl when wearing it!

Did you adjust sizing for this line? Length and width? I mean no disrespect but all the pieces seem bigger on you – longer and less form fitting. Was the sizing adjusted for this collection? Since I moved to a petite, we were able to keep the regular sizes traditional lengths. I believe they can accommodate up to 5’9″ easily, but also the styles work for floor length or midi!! I love this collection and I have my eye on a couple of pieces. However, $50 for a basic tshirt seems unnecessarily expensive.

Thank you so much, Melissa! Here is what the Nordstrom website says about the Medium as a reference: 3″ regular inseam; 26″ leg opening; 13″ front rise; 18″ back rise. There will obviously be a slight fluctuation depending on your size, but this is a good starting point! xo, Cassie
Lovely things but . . . pretty discouraging when things sell out so quickly. Nordstrom should stock more items, esp. in the denim skirt. I do realize that mediums sell out fastest but in just two hours? Some of us have to be at work early am so no time to shop. Preview sales are offered by some brands or “trunk shows” at my local shop. Seems like there is just no time to even read the blog before items sell out.
Hi Deborah! The Gibson team and I work very hard to try and anticipate what we think will be the biggest sellers, but we can’t see the future! Sometimes what sells out the fastest really surprises us! There will definitely be some returns in the next few weeks… a lot of people get more than one size and then returns what ends up not working. xo, Cassie

Congrats on your 5th collection Cassie! I perused the collection on the Nordstrom site- they are beautiful clothes, esp the maxi skirt and dress. Too bad I can’t try on/feel the clothes at my local store. However, the pricing is out of my budget… just too much $.
