Dressing Room Diaries | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Open to ALL!

Happiest of Fridays, friends! I hope you had a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast, because it’s about to get serious around here! Today marks opening day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (the last week has been just for cardholders…now it’s open to EVERYONE!).

And lucky for you, I’ve got a monster-sized Dressing Room Diaries today, featuring more of my favorite finds from the sale (see First Picks here and here). I tried to style most of them head-to-toe with sale items, including boots, jeans and jewelry, so make sure to check all the links! And you’ll be thrilled to know Mama Sugarplum came, too! Let’s get after it, shall we?

Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 120 pounds-ish (depending on the week’s taco count), with a slight pear shape. My usual size is 0/XS. Mama Sugarplum is 5’1″, with an hourglass figure, and her size is XS/2P.

As usual, let’s start with a highlight from the day…this convertible wrap is insanely soft and cozy (but not too warm!), and can be styled a number of different ways. My friends at Gibson hit a home run with this one! You’ll want to wear it with everything from your pajamas to jeans.

It can be worn open as a cardigan, tied at the waist, or snap the ends together and wrapped around your neck. It also comes in a slew of great colors.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing regular XS, but will likely swap for a petite so it’s not so long when worn open.

Doesn’t mom look so chic in the black? She’s wearing XS, as well. And check out her darling loafers…as soon as she slipped mine on, she grabbed them for herself. They are seriously the most comfy flat I’ve ever worn.

One of my most popular posts last year was All About Tunics, so I know ya’ll love a good long top for leggings. This v-neck is a lightweight jersey knit with good drape and a longer length that covers the bum. I’d wear it half-tucked with jeans, too.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but would size up if you want a relaxed fit with more room for covering leggings.

This ribbed sweater has a fun wrap shape, and slightly cropped fit. It’s soft with a good mid-weight perfect for Fall transition time. These jeans are definitely a favorite find of the sale…just a touch of distressing, great mid-rise, and thick, stretchy denim that holds everything in.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS sweater and 26 jeans.

I love the colors and fun stripe pattern of this retro-style sweater. It’s on the thin side, but not sheer, and a close fit.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size 6 and it still felt a little small.

This shirt is plaid perfection…a soft, drapey material that’s light and super comfortable. It comes in several fun plaids, and a great relaxed fit. Wear it with cut-offs now and boots later.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS.

Considering Fall is a long way off for us, I’m thrilled to see so many ‘wear now’ styles included in the Sale this year…including this striped tee with ruffle sleeve. It’s a thick cotton with good structure, and fun bright colors.

Fit Tip: It’s a close fit, so I sized up to a small for a little more room.

Mom is wearing a large, but needs a medium. She’s also trying to swipe my loafers!

It doesn’t get any more cozy for Fall than a cashmere poncho, and this one is under $100 right now! I love the color blocking and v-neck shape.

Fit Tip: It’s one-size only, and a generous fit.

I shared this short-sleeve tunic sweater with you last week…it’s one of my fave finds from the Sale…but I wanted to show how darling it looks layered over a long-sleeve tee for Fall. It’s a soft cotton knit with relaxed cowlneck.

Fit Tip: It fits oversized like a tunic, I’m wearing XS

Nothing fancy about this tee, but you can never go wrong with a good thick tee. I love the scoop neck of this one, and the thick stretch of the cotton. It comes in several colors and stripes, and thick enough to wear alone, but also great for layering.

Long Sleeve Tee | White Jeans | Sneakers | Hoops

The moto jacket game is strong in this year’s Sale, and this leather option is the most gorgeous of the bunch. It feels like butter, but isn’t delicate. It’s a great fit across the shoulders and chest, and perfect hip length. I wear these jackets with jeans, skirts and dresses all Fall and Winter.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but size down for a shrunken fit.

Another great moto option, this one is a neutral shade of tan with pink undertones. It’s soft, but sturdy and have accents at the shoulder.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but would prefer the fit of sizing down.

I’ve had a lot of requests for work wear, and found so many great pieces included in the Sale….starting with this knit sweater with the cutest scallop neckline. It’s thick enough to layer over a collared shirt, and soft enough to wear alone. And do you see the fun ruffles on the cuffs!!??

The pants are a great staple with a modern plaid print and chic cropped, wide-legged fit. Style them with a blouse or sweater for work, or a cami for date night.

Fit Tip: The sweater is a small, but I need my usual XS. The pants are 2p, but I need a regular 2 or 4p, so size up one if you’re fuller through the hips.

I love this bold blue on mom, and she paired it with our favorite pencil skirt.

Fit Tip: She’s wearing a 2p in the skirt, so it’s true to size.

You know I choose clothes by their versatility, and this ruffle sweater with detachable sleeves is taking it next level! It’s a thick sweater knit with two rows of sturdy ruffles at the shoulder and a mock-neck. But simply un-zip the sleeves and you have a fun sleeveless sweater! I’ve paired it with my fave pencil skirt for a work wear style, but it’s darling with jeans, too.

Fit Tip: The sweater runs large, so size down. I’m wearing XXS petite.

Y’all…have you ever seen anyone cuter?! I love the combo of bright colors, and this silhouette is darling on her petite frame. The tee is a thick cotton with lots of stretch, and the midi skirt really sturdy with inverted pleats.

Fit Tip: Size up in the tee, she’s wearing a medium, and the skirt is true to size.

Another classic work style, both these heavy-hitters easily mix and match for countless combos. The blouse pairs beautifully with skirts, slacks and even jeans. The website calls this a mini skirt, but it fits me closer to a traditional pencil skirt. It’s a wool blend with a touch of stretch, and fully-lined.

Fit Tip: Both are true to size, I’m wearing XS and reg 0.

This combo would easily transition from work to date night. The floral is soft and pretty, but the shape and colors make it perfect for evening…even paired with jeans.

A fun wear-now dress, this drop waist cutie comes in several fun patterns, and would be darling with a blazer or long cardigan as it cools. It’s a drapey, crepe material with good movement.

Excuse me while I swoon!! Seersucker, pockets, bow!! I adore this jumpsuit…it’s a sturdy cotton and fully-lined, with a comfortable top that stays in place.

Fit Tip: This is a regular 0, but it’s a little short in the stride. If you have a long torso, I’d size up one.

Hello LBD for all season! This perfect dress is a thick, stretchy sweater knit with scallop trim and flounce hem. It can be worn off the shoulder (actually stays in place!), or as cap sleeves. It’s incredibly comfortable, and so flattering.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a regular 0, but petite sizing available if you want a shorter, flirtier fit.

Off-the-Shoulder Dress | Bangle Set

It doesn’t get much easier than a t-shirt dress and sneakers (or sandals). This one is thick cotton with just enough stretch and not too boxy. I love the arm stripes for a preppy meets sporty vibe.

Fit Tip: True to size, I’m wearing XS

And back to jumpsuits….hello, hot stuff!! I shared this jumpsuit with you last week, and she was so excited to try it for herself. It’s stunning on her, don’t you think?!

Okay, let’s move on to workout wear…hard to beat this thick and comfy pullover and legging combo. The sweatshirt is thick with a hood and longer length. The leggings are smooth and soft with a cropped length.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small in the pullover, and leggings are true to size, I’m in XS

Mom is wearing a fun funnel neck version with a full zip, in a rich plum. The leggings are my absolute favorites and I always stock up during the Sale. They are soft and smooth, and not aggressively tight. They’re cropped on me, but ankle length on mom.

Fit Tip: We’re both wearing small tops and XS leggings.

And finally, we found two darling pajama sets in classic fits and prints. Both are light, crisp cotton.

And before we go…I want to share two of my favorite tees included in the Sale, both perfect for year-round. First up, this scoop neck tee in a great longer length and perfect dip at the neck. It comes in tons of colors, and is great worn alone, and layers perfectly.

And this top is a great mix of girlie and preppy with a longer sleeve with ruffle trim. It’s a thick cotton with good stretch, and poplin ruffle trim.

Fit Tip: It’s true to size, but size up if you like a more relaxed fit (it’s fitted through the shoulders)

So what were Mama Sugarplum’s top picks? She grabbed another pair of her favorite pajamas and hooded cardigan, along with new booties, jeans, and my loafers! She also ordered the scalloped sweater, hooded pullover, and convertible cardigan. I think she’ll end up with this leather moto, too!

Honestly, we loved everything we’re sharing, and I’d be happy to own any of it. Now I just need the temperatures to drop about 50-degrees so I can wear more of this great stuff!! Believe it or not, I still have more things to show you….but that will have to wait until next week because if I say ‘darling,’ ‘comfy,’ or ‘perfect’ one more time, I might gouge my own eye out.
