Some bloggers are cool and casual when they get big opportunities. You know, like waiting until the day before their segment airs to tell you they flew to New York, and taped an episode of The Nate Berkus Show. Or nonchalantly linking you to their feature article in a magazine once it prints.
Me? Not that cool. I get exciting news and I want to tell everyone! Because even if it falls through, it was cool to be considered. Right? So today I’m being very uncool and running around cleaning my house and ironing 82 outfit options.
Why? Because The Dallas Morning News is coming to photograph my kid’s rooms! Pretty nervewracking exciting to think more than 400,000 subscribers (and you, of course, because you know I’ll post it here!) will be peeking into our home.
The reporter came to interview me last week, so I tried to limit my ‘ums’ and ‘likes’. And I felt a bit like a fraud giving advice on a topic in which I have no training. But Jamie, the reporter, was so sweet and relatable that I trust she’ll make me appear brilliant, as opposed to a nincompoop. Um, good luck with that, Jamie!
So wish me luck, and fingers crossed I don’t have a strained, constipated look on my face in every picture!
