Welcome back to reality! I hope you had a great long weekend…or maybe your weekend hasn’t ended yet! #luckyducks If you follow me on InstaGram, then you saw our shenanigans this weekend. Nothing like hurling your body through the air on a contraption built by your brother and his friend! Between that and reading the Nordstrom Anniversary Catalog, my heart rate had some serious spikes this weekend! (But seriously, how excited are you for this sale?! Who’s shopping the pre-sale starting Thursday??? #duh)
How is it freaking July!? I can’t believe we’ve already been on Summer break for a month!! Granted, it was a jam-packed, jet-setter month, full of amazing travels and unforgettable experiences…and we managed to squeeze a few projects in there, too.
In case you took an internet hiatus, here’s the {Top Ten} posts of June.
Can I get a ‘HOLLA’ for the long weekend ahead?! And happy belated Canada Day to my Canadian readers! If you’ve pursued my Travel tab, you know I’m a fan of that beautiful country. #eh #dontyoulovestereotypes
It’s been longer than usual since I last shared snapshots of my everyday outfits, mixed-and-matched using items in my closet…so today’s installment of Sugarplum Style is a doozy!
We had a pretty mild Spring, but Summer is certainly making herself known now…so it’s shorts and dresses everyday. This linen shirt saw a lot of action…with collar popped, of course. And I don’t mind when a linen shirt like this wrinkles, it just adds to it’s casual appeal.
The bright colors and abstract print of this dress sucked me in, and the sale price sealed the deal. The back is a little exposed, so I paired a jean vest to make it more office appropriate.
Does it get any more crisp than blue and white?! I kicked up my favorite gingham print (use code HOTSALE for extra 20% off) with a pop of pink. Did you notice my new bag charm? It’s a smaller version of the elephant charm I’ve had for years…and it’s finally back in stock! And even better, use code HAPPY4 for 15% off!
My favorite, wear-anywhere, goes-everywhere, dress made a brunch appearance for my mom’s birthday. Remember it styled {3 Ways} for vacation, and again {Day to Night}? #thisdressgetsaround And my striped bag just makes every outfit cuter…use code SUGARPLUM10 for 10% off!
This travel day was white on white, with a pop of blue and pink. And a cutie-pie photobombed! Use code GOFOURTH for 30% off my tassel necklace!
June was our month of travel, so we had a few different weather days…the kitten-cardi works great for a lightweight, cozy layer in the Summer, too! #whoknew
Oh hey, dressier version of my previous outfit! I took a tip from my {5 Ways} Maxi Dress post, and tied a shirt over my dress for a fresh, new look. It kills me that my bag charm is missing from this outfit!!
The pink version of my favorite, wear-anywhere, goes-everywhere, dress was perfect for a surprise, zero-sleep trip to NYC. Remember it styled {5 Ways} and for {Date Night}?
Who said shorts aren’t stylish and chic? I style mine just as I would a skirt. And yep, that’s the linen popover top. Again.
This outfit is made cuter by the coordinating floors! #happyaccident You’ve probably noticed the pink necklace popping up a lot lately too…I love how it adds just a subtle peek of color in an otherwise neutral outfit.
How to make a romper work appropriate(ish)? Just add heels, jewels, and a cardigan. #donedoneanddone
And how to make a romper appropriate for previously mentioned surprise, zero-sleep trips to NYC? Just add sandals, jean jacket, and a too-cute-for-words tote bag! This colorful number doubled as my plane carry-on, purse, and shopping tote. (Use code HAPPY4 for 15% off!) It may be the only bag I own that’s so cute it doesn’t benefit from a tassel charm!
And finally, this picture is actually for the next round of Dressing Room Diaries, but after the response it got on InstaGram and Facebook, I was afraid it’d sell out. You know I love my pink racerback dress more than my luggage…but I shamelessly added this dress to my arsenal. The neckline is uber-flattering, the hemline is more modest, and the color is so punchy. Oh, and how about it’s less than $50! #sold
So if the racerback shift dress didn’t work for you…maybe because the armholes were too low, or the hemline was too high…I encourage you to try this one! And if the racerback shift dress did work for you…well, you’re going to want this one, too! #trustme
Last thing, several readers have asked that I start suggesting which undergrundies I’d wear with these type of dresses. I’m not actually wearing a bra in this picture, but a strapless would work perfectly. Now you’re all looking at my boobs, aren’t you?! Well, stop! #pervs 😉
